Tl- the contact owned a 2013 Audi Q5. The contact stated that while the driver was driving at various speeds, the vehicle start to smoke which was coming from under the hood. The contact was not able to coasted to the side of the road due to heavy traffic on the interstate. The contact was able to exit the vehicle without injuries. The vehicle then burst into flame. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an insurance lot. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic to determine the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 17v622000 (electrical system) and 18v229000 (engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and open a case #171538600. The approximate failure mileage was 27,000. Aw.
