The contact owns a 2014 Audi Q7. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, there was an abnormally strong fuel odor coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with fuel filter flange failure. The contact was informed that the fuel filter flange needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 17v298000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the recall repair had been performed in December 2017. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Audi Q7. The contact stated that while inside or outside the vehicle, there was a strong odor of fuel detected. There were no warning lights illuminated.   the contact called the local dealer, who informed him the vehicle was previously repaired in 2018 under NHTSA campaign number: 17v298000 (fuel system, gasoline). But the failure recurred and there was no warranty coverage. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Audi Q7. The contact stated that there was an occasional fuel odor from the exterior of the vehicle and the rear driver-side back-row seat. The contact was advised by the manufacturer, that the vehicle was previously repaired for NHTSA campaign number: 17v298000 (fuel system, gasoline). The contact mentioned to be an independent mechanic and after further investigation, he discovered he could access the fuel tank through the rear driver-side back-row seat. In addition, the contact noticed the fuel tank had been temporarily repaired with a fuel pump flange to prevent the fuel tank from being cracked over time. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to costs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 153,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Audi Q7. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, there was a fuel and exhaust odor entering the cabin of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the odor was more prominent in colder weather and the failure had occurred intermittently while the vehicle was idling.
