Airbag light stays lit on dash board, safety station says it will pass state inspection (mass) due to age of vehicle. My mechanic cannot remove the service code with his computer? it always stays on, I bought the car 2 years ago and it has always been on, and it always been serviced thoroughly. My mechanic says it's passenger's side airbag??.

Air bag light came on and dealer performed a function test. The test failed because of a faulty air bag module that had an estimated replacement cost of $1294. 12 I was told that this would be at my expense as safety components were not replaced beyond the original manufactures warranties.
