Wheel problem #1

Right rear tire has worn excessively compared to other tires. There is a recall for this issue on some 2021 Audi Q7 but ours what not part of that recall.

Wheel problem #2

At 49,520 miles, dealer reported that tires were "chopped on inner edge and waring on outer edge". Tread depth was reported as 7/32 on front, and 6/32 on back. The goodyear eagle sport run flat tires, 285/45-20, are commonly complained about on the Audit Q7 for poor wear patterns. It is notable that Audi does not recommend or include tire rotations in the every 10k mile maintenance services, which we pre-paid for. Tire rotations, it seems, is the only thing that can minimize the poor wear patterns. Tires are always kept properly inflated, and car is driven gently. Alignment is within specification. More than a little ticked off that the oem tires do not perform adequately throughout the life of the tread. This is a known problem area, per the internet.

Wheel problem #3

Both front tires at 19,600 miles have tread pealing off the tire. This is occurring across the whole tread of the front tires . From the inside to the outside of both tires. The rear tires look like new. The front tires tread depth indicaters show the tire to be evenly worn across each front tire. Audi said there was a TSB concerning the tire wear of the front tires and I would have to pay for new replacement tires and alignment. There were some sheets of rubber sloughing off the tires as though they being torn from the tires.

Wheel problem #4

Hello! I have an 2012 Audi Q7 and my airbags never deployed at 50 mph impact. It's a total loss. Do I have grounds for a lawsuit?.

Wheel problem #5

My to date with 22017 Audi q-7 has had 3 sets of defective tire. Always serviced at dealership, before servive even due, they informed me at 13,642 that my tires were throwing chucks of rubber. Good year tires warrantied but charged me $600. 00 plus install and balance that I paid . At 23,425 miles the same even worse issue appeared on the 2nd set-- again good year warrantied if I paid another $762. 00. The dealership, Audi sarasota,FL has been helpful but suggested I buy perrelli tire for another $700. 00 plus dollars. Goodyear has a problem with the tire for this model, other owners have had issues I was told by the first service manager who has left the dealership. I would like goodyear to return all monies spent on these defective and dangerous that works. Tires and I will buy the appropiate brand and style . How should I go forward?.

Wheel problem #6

We have a new 2019 Audi Q7 bought in December 2018 that has now 11900 miles on it. I noticed a few days ago that the front tires are completely damaged, for no apparent reason. The whole tires are damaged, not just one spot on the tire. They look as if someone used a cutter and cut them up and removed bits of the tire. If I had not looked at the tires and see the problem, I am afraid the tires would have blown up at some point.

Wheel problem #7

April 30,2020. I was using a "new" jack that was supplied with the car. The jack was on a flat concrete surface in my garage. The jack failed and broke, dumping the SUV on its front right side, from which the wheel had been removed. Before using the jack, an Audi service manager told me he didn't like to use the jacks, because they were known, within Audi, to fail. The service manager, having more experience than I, jacked the car up, using the jack that was sold with the car. The rt. Ft wheel was removed and put in the rear of another vehicle and while unattended for 5 minutes, during the transfer, the jack gave out. Afterward, it was observed that the rotary jack would not lift or descend. Very upsetting to realize that Audi has had this problem for years in that my SUV was one that was previously recalled because of the diesel omission issues. When the service manager of an Audi franchise acknowledges the problem, prior to the failure, it is reprehensible conduct.

Wheel problem #8

This 2017 vehicle has 17,400 miles. Oem tires have been rotated at 5037, 12,306 and 14,218. Vehicle delivered to me on 6/22/17 as brand new. Alignment on 3/24/20 by Audi. Total toe-in for front and rear in specification along with other parameters. Outer edges of tires are failing. Chunks of rubber are either flaking off or very rough. Goodyear tire - 285/45r20 112h xl eagle sport a/s rof aoe. Run flats. Based on internet searches of goodyear tire and Audi owner websites many (10+) individuals have noted this exact failure mode on this particular vehicle/tire combination. Most have had to replace the tires. I will replace the tires as well do to safety concern and road noise.

Wheel problem #9

The oem goodyear eagle run flat technology (rft) tires that were originally installed on the vehicle are starting to "chunk" on the outer edges of the tire. The tread is still at 8/32 and the car only has 9,700 miles on it. This is a well documented issue on 2018 Audi Q7's with this tire, so much so that there is a TSB out for the issue. However, Audi and the dealership have declined to replace the defective tires even though they are clearly wearing differently than the back ones. Their explanation is that this is "normal wear", but no other car I have driven has had this type of tire wear.

Wheel problem #10

Purchased a new 2018 Audi Q7 late June 2018 with goodyear eagle all season tires (285/45r20). After about 24,000 miles, notice steering was drifting towards the passenger side while driving on highway and road in normal conditions. Then notice both front tires started to "chunk" on outer edges of tire. Rear tires are still in good shape and wearing evenly at 7/32 tread depth. Dealer at fremont, CA acknowledge this is a known issue and will not replace tires after 12,000 miles. Per dealer report, lf and rf are "5+ cupping". Dealer service advisor recommended to call goodyear. Call goodyear toll free number to file a warranty claim. Goodyear also acknowledge Audi is aware this is an issue on vehicle and provided a warranty claim number. Very surprised both goodyear and Audi acknowledge there is a design defect but dealer is not willing to replace tires under manufacture warranty especially since car is drifting to the right under normal driving conditions. Drifting could be a safety issue and potentially create an accident.

Wheel problem #11

After 10k miles we started noticing abnormal wear on the outside of the tires. I have the 18" goodyear runflat tires. The tires are chunking severely posing a serious safety concern for my family. Audi has a TSB for the same condition on the 20" tire. I do not know why the do not cover the same condition on the 18" tire??.

Wheel problem #12

Excessive tire wear continental tires installed as original equipment worn out at 14,000 miles; identical tires installed and showing excessive wear at 3500 miles.

Wheel problem #13

I noticed rough handling and road noise at 7,000 miles. I checked the tires and they were worn unevenly. The dealer said they needed to be rotated and that it would go away, but it's been another 9,000 miles and it hasn't improved. The tires are pirelli scorpion verde all season run flats. They are wearing horribly only on the inside half of the tires. I had a four wheel alignment done, but it hasn't helped the uneven wear. The wear pattern is wavy, like a roller coaster. I believe there is an issue with these tires. The car is a 2018 Audi Q7.

Wheel problem #14

I bought a brand new 2018 Audi Q7 pretige with goodyear run flat tires. All four tires failed or are failing with tread loss and tread separation/delaminating. I bought tire hazard coverage at added cost. At 6500 miles one tire lost a large tread section, and this tire was replaced by Audi bend oregon. As of today when I took car to Audi naples FL, now the other three tires at 17000 miles all show defect. Audi will not stand by the warranty state no it's over 12000 miledelamination/fraying tread. Audi states its a goodyear tire issue but Audi put these tires on the cars they sold. They stated that due to problems Audi puts perrilli or continental tires and no longer goodyear. I never got an alert to defect or to getting tires inspected for a defect. They now want me to pay for 4 new tires without any allowance for my upfront warranty cost and the fact Audi stated they were switching out to perelli tires but it expired for me. These tires are not safe and I will attach pictures of the defects. And the dot numbers of the 3 organic final tires and the one replaced - nec4jj1r4617 nec4jj1r3917 nec4jj1r4717 nec4jj1r4717.

Wheel problem #15

Goodyear eagle sport run-flat tires on a new 2017 Audi Q7 are completely bald on the front outsides and have chunks coming off of them by 16,000 miles. It was actually a problem earlier, but my current mileage is 16,000 so I'm using that number. It's a known issue according to Audi, but Audi of north America only passes the buck and says the dealership should deal with it. The dealership was the one that told me to contact Audi of north America.

Wheel problem #16

I was taking a u-turn under a freeway in my 10 month old Audi Q7. As I was finishing the u-turn a stabilization error message appeared and my brakes went out. I was finishing my uturn and couldn't slow down soi ended up running into the cement barrier with my right back wheel and went onto the feeder. Luckily it was at 5am so no other cars were on the road. Hitting the barrier slowed by car down to 5 mph. As I straightened out my car, the brakes started working again. I had the car towed to the dealership. The dealership said Audi of America had to look at it. The engineer finally came to look at it on Jan 3rd (3 weeks after the accident). He said that they couldn't test drive the car because the control arm was broken but the tests they ran showed that nothing was wrong with the car and told me to call my insurance. I asked how they knew nothing was wrong and they said tests were run. I asked how they explained the error messages (stabilization error and safety error). They said those came up after the accident. They don't the time of the accident so how do they know this?. I took pictures of the error messages and know the timing of that. I asked for a print out of their findings 3 times. It has been 10 days and I still have not gotten anything from them. The car is still sitting at the dealership.

Wheel problem #17

Bought vehicle from dealer with 22k miles, as a previous two year lease vehicle. After owning it for four days, noticed loud screech in brakes when backing up and applying brakes first time in the day. Took to local shop, and they found brakes to be ok, and that there is a bulletin on this with no fix at this time. But what they did find is very uneven wear on my front tire, which we would not have noticed. They said there was a bulletin on this at the 14k mileage mark for tire replacement on the goodyear eagles. We were fortunate that the dealer we purchased from agreed to replace all four tires for us with continentals. No hassles at all. Could have missed the notice since it was a lease vehicle. But I wonder how long we would have gone without knowing this??? if it wasn't for getting the brakes checked, we wouldn't have known. Waiting now for a fix on the brake noise. Kind of embarrassing when driving an expensive vehicle.

Wheel problem #18

Good year eagle sport run flat tires losing chunks of tread on outer ribs, both front tires 13840 miles.

Wheel problem #19

We purchased our Q7 Feb of 2017. It was a cpo with 10k miles. Part of the deal was they had to change he tires. The front tires looked like they were chewed up or tearing up. They changed the tires. Then about 2k miles later it started doing the same thing on the new tires. Same chewed or tearing up look. We took it to Audi. We had the goodyear eagle sport all season tires. They changed the tires again. Then same issue again about 1500k miles. So finally the gm placed new set of pirelli tires on all 4 tires. Now it's only about 1500k miles still doing the same on the new sets of tires. Audi claims that there's no issues and blames its the road that we drive. We've never taken it off roading or any dirt roads. Only regular street roads. A friend of ours that works a local tire shop and he says it's an alignment issue. I'm not sure if Audi have looked at their specs on the alignment and maybe off on the numbers. We also filed a complaint with Audi directly but they said they can't do anything for us. We also found out there's already a bulletin going on about the issue with the tires through Audi. But still no recalls.

Wheel problem #20

As my family was driving down the highway, the wheel shore off of the vehicle and my car came down on the highway in NJ. I-80 west bound between exits 63-64. No other vehicles or hazards were in the area or damaged. Only my wheel came off the car completely. This rendered my whole family into shock. No pot hole or roadway hazard. Just an act of nature and poor engineeering.

Wheel problem #21

Tires purchased from liberty tire and brake on 05/01/14 were manufactured between 2008-2009 with only 3-9 months of warranty left. On our way home from our family vacation from the FL keys on 07/06/14 one tire separated and all four tires were off balance. We purchased four new tires to continue our 500 mile journey home. Due to limited trunk space with luggage and our children in the backseat we were only able to bring the damaged tire back with us which nexen will refund us. However we would also like a refund for the other three tires manufacture in 2008-2009 who have been sold to us without the age disclosure by liberty tire & brake. The retailer has been very little help in resolving this issue and we have since reported him to the bbb, consumer protection, and sent a letter of demand from our military legal assistance office here in ft. Stewart, GA. We are reporting this per our telephone conversation with ref. # 686300 any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need any additional information or purchase receipts please feel free to contact us. Sincerely eric & christine flynn.
