Seat belts are fraying. The seatbelt in the second row on the driver side cannot be used because it has frayed and the tear is halfway through the width of the seat belt. The same issue is developing in the 3rd row on the passenger side. Audi is trying to charge us $1700 to replace the seatbelt in the second row alone.

The seat belt has now come unlocked from the locked position multiple times without unbuckling the seat. This is an issue because it's the seat belt used to install an infant car seat, so the car seat is not locked into place, which could be a major issue in the event of a crash. The seat belt retractor has randomly unlocked multiple times after being locked into place. The car dealership was unable to replicate the problem, but it has since occurred multiple times at home.

The right rear seat belt locking retractor, which was locked when I put my son in his car seat, became unlocked in motion during our trip while his car seat was in use. I check the lock each time I place him in his car seat, and it was locked at the beginning of our journey. Having an unlocked safety belt puts a child at risk since their car seat can't be properly secured with an unlocked safety belt. The retractor had worked prior to this instance since I started using it with our car seat 3 months ago. I have reached out to the Audi dealership and have not heard back.

I'm writing you today with a major concern related to the safety of the current model Audi Q7. The problem is with the left and right 2nd row belt buckles. Both are attached to a plastic fixture, sit a few inches in front of the back seat, and cannot be moved beyond a forward 45 degree angle. The position and orientation prevent you from safely/correctly installing any child seat using the belt path. Latch works fine but it has an upper weight limit. We took the car to the local police dept and the certified child seat expert confirmed the buckle design would not allow us to safely install any forward facing car seat using the belt path. We tried to install our nuna rava car seat rear facing as well - one of the safest and most expensive convertible seats available - and the buckle position prevented me from securing it properly as well. The belt kinks and the position creates a slightly forward angle from the passthrough on the seat to the buckle. Leaving way too much lateral motion. I took the car to my local Audi dealer recently and they confirmed there is no available solution from Audi. I asked the service rep to escalate this with hq but no progress. As a result of this, we are unable to safely install any car seat using the belt path, forward and rear facing, on either side of the Q7 second row. Please investigate for yourself. This is serious issue. Audi needs to take action here ASAP before someone gets hurt. Thank you in advance.

2017 Audi Q7 3. 0 qtro--while traveling to FL, the pre sense warning light indicating failure began flickering on and off. Within several weeks, it was on constantly. Subsequently, a "whooping" sound became constant in the pillar behind the driver side door. Upon returning to OH, I reported this to my dealer. I was told the driver side seat belt tensioner has malfunctioned. Dealer states this is also the cause of the pre sense frontal safety system failure. Vehicle now out of warranty. Quoted repair for this safety issue is $1200. I learned this is a commonly known problem, and believe it should be associated with the NHTSA recall 16v955000. My vehicle is not listed on any Audi recalls at this point. The dealer initially texted the repair quote, but the link expired, and the dealer is not interested in putting this in writing again to me. Thus not documents to upload at this point, but will continue to request documentation of the dealer's diagnosis.
Stationary vehicle: for the last 3-4 week the seat belt does not want to fasten. I have to really work with it to fasten. Also ,it is difficulty to un-fasten once it is fastened. This problem is intermittent and is getting hung more frequently. I ask the Audi dealer in melbourne to check the seat belt about 5- months ago. They said they could not reproduce the problem with the seat belt. But to me this is a real safety problem.
Vehicle has 31,000 miles. Only three or four people sat in the back ever in the time I had the car and the seatbelt in the back driver side is broken.

We bought a used Audi Q7. It is only 3 years old and has a little over 60,000 miles. The rear passenger seat belt will not latch. I have contacted Audi, and they told me it is out of warranty and they are going to charge me to even look at it. I have read that the NHTSA may be able to help me have it fixed without charge. Is this something that is possible?.

Tl- the contact owns a 2017 Audi Q7. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the blind spot monitoring system had malfunctioned and the driver was not alerted of on coming vehicles. Also the seat belt warning alarm had intermittently malfunctioned and did not remind occupants to lock the seat belts. In addition while operating the vehicle the windows would erroneously roll down. The contact indicated that the failures would occur intermittently. The cause of the failures were not determined. The local dealer Audi of richfield(1401 77th st. East, richfield mn. ) and manufacturer were notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 100. Jft.
06/23/2017 took vehicle into dealer for airbag warning light, repair finished 06/30/2017 due to cracked connector under driver's seat in a wiring bundle that does not flex with movement of seat. Connector under driver's seat in a wiring bundle shorted one month after seat was removed for battery replacement. Disabling all airbags and seat belt module. Vehicle was parked on city street when airbag warning light came on. My concern is removing the driver's seat or stress can cause cracking of this seatbelt connector disabling the airbags is a serious safety issue.
