1 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2021 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 12/30/2024

There is a recall for my issue from Audi 90vc. The “remedy” is a software update that a previous dealer and Audi field techs say willl not fix my issue. It’s a hardware issue. The remedy provided for the recall is a facade and doesn’t fix the root cause of the issue. I’m one that actually have the symptoms of the cockpit failed (completely blank screen) but yet Audi is telling me I have to pay to have this safety recall/issue fixed.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2022 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 09/13/2024

I drove on highway 5 south from los angeles towards san diego in the morning. I followed the traffic in the middle lane and turned on the acc, including the lane-keep assist, at the same time. The speed was set at 78 mph, but the traffic was moving faster than that. The distance was set to level 3 for acc auto brake. After passing a speed limit sign, the head-up display suddenly showed a speed limit warning light, and at the same time, the vehicle suddenly braked and reduced speed to 65 mph. The vehicle behind me almost crashed into me. The acc didn’t behave the same way as in the past, and I didn’t receive any notice from the dealer or manufacturer about this significant change. This could definitely be a major problem when using acc in traffic. For example, if the traffic is moving at 80 mph and you set acc at 80mph, when pass a 55 mph speed limit sign, the vehicle will quickly reduce speed to 55 mph, which could cause a serious problem for the cars behind.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2023 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 05/29/2024

During a rain storm, the vehicles rear cross traffic will force the vehicle to stop when it mistakes rain for a person. We were stopped against our will for 3 minutes. Audi corporate worked with our dealership, determined it's a known issue, and determined the vehicle is safe to drive. However, a 1995 Honda civic will allow us to reverse away from an oncoming train, but all the 2023 Audi Q7 potentially will force your death by train. Or in event of being attacked.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2019 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 03/10/2024

On March 10, 2024 we were parking the car in the lot at 3450 montgomery rd, aurora, IL 60504, when the car suddenly accelerated despite my foot being on the brake and crashed into a storefront. The fireman said the airbags deploy code was issues but the airbag never deployed, and the automatic emergency braking did not stop the car. It seemed as though the transmission was switched, but we had not touched the gas.

5 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2021 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 02/28/2024

My car first had a warning “electrical system: malfunction! please contact service. ” I made a appointment at my Audi dealership 2 days later, but the next day I got more warnings. “automatic start/stop system: malfunction!” then my power steering was not working. I decided to drive straight to the service department that afternoon, but never made it. In rush hour traffic on a busy street, my Q7 started beeping every warning - “electrical system: malfunction! safely stop vehicle”, “drive system: malfunction! stop vehicle safely” and the vehicle decreased speed then abruptly turned off. I was so scared that I would get hit by the traffic zooming around me. It wouldn't go into neutral and my parking brake was engaged blinking. I put on my hazard lights and called 911 for traffic assistance while sitting in my car. I was able to safely exit and after calling Audi, I could get my car into neutral and move it off the busy street with the help of some good samaritans. I had the car towed to Audi. The service department said they have seen this a handful of times and that it's a problem with the accelerator/generator.

6 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2023 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 01/20/2024

Vehicle displayed a “malfunction” warning followed by a notification the engine rpm would be limited to 1,200 and decelerated rapidly to 1,200 rpm and would not go past it. Vehicle would only drive at about 11-13 mph afterwards. Incident occurred on a downhill 5 minutes after starting driving in the morning. If this had happened on a highway at high speeds it could have been a very dangerous situation.

7 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 07/04/2022

On 7/4 as I was merging onto the highway I was accelerating to merge onto the main lanes of traffic. I pressed on the accelerator to pickup speed, but when I let off the pedal the vehicle felt like it was continuing to accelerate similar to being on cruise control. I felt like I did not have control of the vehicle. I pressed on the brake pedal and let go to see if it would disengage the acceleration, but it did not. I then continued to press down on the brake pedal and pull over to the emergency lane and park the car. I had total of 6 passengers in vehicle with me, 4 adult and 2 children. After being pulled over I checked to insure the pedal was not stuck on any floor mats, and it was not. I was lucky that there was no traffic on the holiday to avoid any collisions. I carefully resumed to my destination and the vehicle operated normally. I reported to Audiusa via online chat requesting advice. They suggested I contact a local service center who would charge me to diagnose the vehicle. I have not taken any steps yet given they typically will charge me regardless of determining any issues and identify some other upsell opportunity for service. I'm wondering if anyone else has reported this experience for an Audi Q7 2015 and any actions taken. Also if there is any government programs for safety inspections for unintended acceleration of vehicles. I would have expected Audi or any manufacturer to offer a complimentary inspection given the safety concerns. Thanks.

8 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2021 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 06/13/2022

Was driving around 30 mph. Audi Q7started showing malfunctions on the dashboard, stabilization control malfunction, transmission malfunction, startup system malfunction, backup system malfunction, drivers assist malfunction, tire pressure malfunction, drive system malfunction. The vehicle started to brake on it own, fishtailed and then started to accelerate on its own.

9 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2014 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 03/05/2021

Flooding due to improper cleaning of ac valve blockage. I took the car to the dealership due to water leakage in the floorboards. They said they fixed the issue but after within a few weeks the water leakage kept pouring now due to that the water leakage has exceeded its point to which it has now put it self into the electronica areas of the car. Now the car will no longer run and it shows multiple issues with the check engine light constantly on consistent water leakage now there’s mold and water leakage in the electronica area and it’s preventing me from using my car my car is no longer able to drive and I feel it’s due to the consistency of them not being able to control the water leak damage the car has caused.

11 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2014 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 06/23/2019

In January 2019, while I was driving on CA 110 in excess of 60 mph, the Audi Q7 tdi's glow plug indicator light came on, I lost acceleration and a few minutes later, my engine shut off and I was stuck in the left lane. I had to call 911 and have chp stop all traffic and push my car to the shoulder while I awaited a tow truck. Audi dtla told me that the high pressure fuel pump failed and that there was metal shrapnel in my fuel line and it all had to be replaced. They said this was a diesel warranty covered issue and we did not pay any charge. In June 2019 while driving on interstate 10 in az, the glow plug light came on again and we lost acceleration while driving over 60 mph. We immediately exited the highway and shut off the engine before the engine shut down on us, as it did in January. We waited an hour in 105 degree heat in the middle of nowhere, until we were towed 80 miles to Audi peoria, who claim they cannot identify the problem. They told us to ride in the car on top of the tow truck. We believe there is either an ongoing hpfp issue, or perhaps something related to the diesel modification, or that this particular car is a lemon - 2 breakdowns in 5 months, within 11,500 miles. The scariest part is that we were driving at highway speeds with our children in the car when the car lost acceleration. We were lucky that we did not get hurt or cause any accidents, but the Audi Q7 tdi, whether it's just this vehicle or all 2014 Q7 tdis are not safe. Audi America, inc. Has refused to repurchase the car or provide any other assistance or remedy. We refuse to ride the car because we are scared of another incident. We have warranties on the car, but that only covers repairs, it doesn't prevent you from getting killed on the highway when they cannot identify the problem with the car. No one at Audi has diagnosed the June 2019 problem we experienced.

12 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2013 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 04/21/2019

The vehicle has performed poorly after completing a us department of justice mandated "fix" of diesel (3. 0 liter tdi, engine code cnrb) emissions equipment related to vw/Audi emissions cheating. There is now sporadic lag in acceleration, especially at low speeds, or accelerating from a complete stop. There were times when I have pulled into oncoming traffic, and the power delivery was non-existent, followed by, after a 1 second delay, rapid over acceleration. There have also been many problems related to the reductant metering module failure that has caused dangerous delays and lags in acceleration.

13 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2014 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 09/01/2018

Adaptive cruise and speed control were intermittently operating eventually resulting in a defective system. No resolution at this time.

14 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2017 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 08/31/2018

I was accelerating to enter onto interstate I-30 at 9:00am on a nice sunny day, there were no other vehicles within 200' of my vehicle and the "pre-sense" system caused the brakes to automatically slam on (twice) to stop the car. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a piece of paper floating across the front of my car and wondered if that was what the car "saw" or sensed that caused it to brake. Thank goodness no one was behind me!.

15 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2018 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 04/09/2018

The 2018 Audi Q7 has been in for service three times since I leased the car on 9/11/2017. My initial inquiry related to technology issues was back on December 22, 2017 that was shortly followed up by a service appointment. After your team assessed the issue and allegedly reset the system, I checked out of the service department, only to experience the same technology issue as I was driving off the lot. Your team proceeded to check the vehicle back in for further investigation. Aside from continued reboots of the Audi computer system or mmi system, the car would flag Audi pre sense warnings and force the car to stop in the middle of intersections, mid turn. Oncoming traffic was estimated at 150 yards from the intersection when the car jammed to a stop. The sensors appear to stop the car after identifying a false read. The car is then stalled in the middle of an intersection causing significant safety risk. Audi replaced the mmi system and the fuel tank after identifying a faulty valve. After the repairs, the vehicle continued to have the same issues. Audi was not able to identify the source of the issue and claimed that the pre sense system sensors were set to a high sensitivity. They also claimed that a pothole or a bird could set off the sensors, causing the vehicle to stop in the middle of an intersection. This seems like a serious safety issue. By the way, I was driving a loaner car for over three months while they attempted to fix my vehicle and false pre sense warnings are common.

16 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2007 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 02/08/2018

"takata recall" the shifting goes out when driving cause the vehicle to jerk or even holt in traffic. The dash locks up to a bold red. This causes the vehicle to drive at a slower speed and can not go above 45mph. Then the fuel starts to smell up the whole vehicle.

17 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 05/16/2016

My vehicle completely shut down while I was driving it 60 mph behind a semi truck and between two cement barriers. I have it on video, it is one of my problems I had with my car to say the least. It happened once more while I was not moving, had it in the Audi dealer for the second time. After I brought it home, it wouldn't shut down. I also have that on video. The videos are too large to upload, but everyone that drives an Audi should see these. I am glad I am alive to tell my story.

18 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2007 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 03/10/2016

The contact owns a 2007 Audi Q7. While merging onto the highway, there was a drastic reduction in speed and the vehicle would not accelerate when the pedal was depressed. A police officer pulled the contact over and stated that it was unsafe to drive below the speed limit. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN and failure mileage were not available.

19 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2009 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 05/16/2015

According to Audi atlanta the high pressure fuel pump (hpfp) exploded. This small but contained explosion was centered within the high pressure fuel pump itself but then sent small metal fragments thorough the fuel system from diesel fuel tank through the injectors. Due to this 10k+ in parts and 4k+ in labor was required to flush the system, replace almost all of the parts in order to repair the damage.

20 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2010 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 03/11/2014

My 2010 Audi Q7 has a serious braking issue. When the engine is started, if you put the vehicle into drive, it will roll forward and the brake will not stop the rolling. You must wait roughly 1 minute for the vehicle to not roll. The time is shorter in the summer, and longer in the winter. The brakes do not work, and it is as if the computer has a glitch. I will depress the brake, and the vehicle will roll forward about 10 feet. This happens in both reverse and forward. My concern is that one could start the car, immediately put it into gear, and hit a pendestrian, child, or other property and not be able to stop the car unless they intuitively know to put the car in neutral or park, which most drivers will not do. I am willing to show this to an NHTSA representative. I believe this needs to be investigated and Audi needs to recall these cars for a proper fix. I called Audi's north american hotline to report this, and the receptionist did not put me in touch with a manager or a safety representative. She said the car needs to go to the shop and be repaired. My auto mechanics say they can't repair this, and it is a manufacturer problem. Audi north America staff should have taken my information, passed it to a manager, and contacted me, but they refused to, saying it was a mechanical issue with my vehicle. I have no other options but to contact NHTSA. I have owned this car since 2014, I first noticed the problem then, and adapted to this problem. I should have told you much sooner than now. I apologize. I know how to deal with this problem, but if it is in any other Audis, there may be pedestrian injuries or deaths.

21 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2007 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 01/06/2014

Car stalled while driving on highway and esp/abs light came on - was told by dealer will have to replace the entire abs control module for $2800! to diagnose this took 2 days for the dealer and even then they are not 100% sure the replacement will fix the abs issue. Have already paid 500+ in labor diagnosis!.

22 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2010 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 06/14/2013

I have an Audi Q7 2010. June 2013, my husband, 4 yr old son and I were driving on the freeway going with the flow of traffic. The car started shaking violently and decelerated to 20 miles per hour. My husband pushed the gas petal over and over and the car would not speed up. Luckily no one was hurt, however we were very scared. We were able to pull to the emergency lane and make it to the Audi dealership close by. January 2014, I was heading to pick up my son from school and the car started shaking violently again- this time worse then before and came to a complete stop in the middle of traffic. The steering wheel locked up and I was stuck. The police were called because I was not in a safe place and the car had to be towed to the dealership. Dealer stated that they found fault in the fuel system, metal shavings in the fuel filter in additional to low fuel pressure. Also confirmed metal shavings in the n290 valve. They had to get authorization from germany to replace entire fuel system. July 2014- yes it happened again. This time my husband and son were headed to go on a father-son camping trip and right before they lost all cell service the car started violently shaking again and decelerated. My husband left the car in a safe place and had friend come get them. The car is a lemon. I have asked that Audi America to replace the car and they sent a technician to the dealership who replaced the fuel filter again and has decided the car is repaired and safe to drive. This is after the manager of the service department told Audi America that the car is not safe and recommended they replace the car. He said " I wouldn't let my wife drive your car". This happened to a friend of mine with an Audi Q7 and Audi had to be forced to an arbitration. She ended up with a new diesel and it happened again! she is now on her 3rd Audi. This time no diesal.

23 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2007 Audi Q7

Failure Date: 07/22/2009

While I was about to leave my home's garage on my 2007 Audi Q7 (3. 6l gas) SUV, I put reverse gear, with my right foot in the brake as usual. At that point my 4 year-old son started crying and spitting up a lot of saliva with bubble gum, so I turned back and took it with my right hand. I did not put the gear in park because my right hand was full of saliva (now I realize that I could have done it with my left hand but at that time I guess it was not natural doing it that way), so I opened the door with my left hand and put my left foot on the floor in order to partially slide outwards to throw the saliva away (which was in my right hand). At this point my right foot let go the brake just a little and the car suddenly started going backwards. As my left foot was on the floor, I tripped and starting falling on the garages floor as the car was moving backwards. At this point my right foot let go the brake completely and the car started going backwards faster, at an unreasonable fast rate! the front wheel almost crashed my body and my left leg got several scratches as it crashed against the open door ripping off all its plastic cover. With my right foot still on the cars floor and my left hand grabbing the door handle, and lot of adrenaline helping, I could slightly slide my right foot inside enough to push the brake and make the car stop. My points are: 1) the car started going backwards very fast by just releasing the brake; cars should move slower, at a limited speed, if the gas pedal is not pushed. 2) there should be a safety feature preventing cars from moving (either forward or backwards) if (a) the door is open, and/or (b) if there is no driver sitting in the drivers seat (like the one in passenger airbags that are inactive when theres no passenger). I have a security camera that got the accident. I can provide the video if you request it. I hope you can do something to prevent this from happening to someone else.
