2 Air Bag problem of the 2001 Audi S4

Failure Date: 01/13/2022

I took the vehicle into the dealer (westwood Audi) for a safety recall repair as requested by Audi. It was for a driver front airbag inflator replacement. The work was done but when the car was returned the airbag warning light was on. I went back in to the service department and was told that the airbag module had failed and that the part was no longer available from Audi. An aftermarket part could be installed but I would have to pay for part and the repair. No cost estimate has been given. I called Audi of America and they said that the dealer told them that they didn't break it so they will not cover the cost of repair. I have owned this car for 20 years and it is in exceptional condition. I took it to the dealer in perfect condition for an airbag repair and got it back with an air bag warning light on and they say they didn't do it? now I have a car without functioning airbags. Anything that you can do to help resolve this?.

4 Air Bag problem of the 2007 Audi S4

Failure Date: 10/31/2020

My airbags were never replaced by Audi. I took my vehicle in for an oil change and to fix the recall I received in the mail (airbags) and was told they had none in stock. Why is this telling me I have no recalls when I still do? the only way that my vehicle has no recalls is if Audi said they fixed it and that’s not true. Nobody has fixed it nor have they notified me that they’re back in stock! the Audi dealership I have dealt with since owning this S4 is the one in fife washington. Now my airbag warning light is on and I do not feel safe but I have no choice. I have to go to work or be homeless and loose everything. That’s not a choice I can make. Thank you.

5 Air Bag problem of the 2007 Audi S4

Failure Date: 05/28/2019

Pursuant to NHTSA recall 18v427 and 18v082 I am having a very hard time getting the necessary repairs done to my vehicle. I called sonnen Audi in san rafael, CA last year and they were not prepared to repair the takata recalls. Later this year in February I called again. I was scheduled for a repair on may 28. I drove 40 miles to get the scheduled repair and they didn't have the parts. They could not tell me when I could get my repair. I am now very concerned that I continue to drive this vehicle that is dangerous to drive and yet the dealership where I bought it has yet to fulfill its responsibility to make my car safe. I believe they have been negligent in taking caring of this important recall. I sent them an online letter two days ago and they have not responded to my complaint.

8 Air Bag problem of the 2008 Audi S4

Failure Date: 05/02/2018

Takata recall. Have received latest notice (nhsta 17v032) indicating that my vehicle needs interim remedy as soon as possible. Have called dealership (Audi burlington MA) 3-4 times to have repair scheduled over last 2 months. Was on the repair schedule for today at 10:15 am but they cancelled saying part was not available (have email). According to notice parts are available. Dealer refuses to give me a order number for the part for my vehicle (claiming they are ordered in bulk not by VIN), refuses to give me an estimate to when part will be in. My vehicle is approaching 10 years old, I believe due to being in MA in group 5. Dealership claims they will call me when part is available but will give no time estimate, claims I am on a "short list" for the repair. I am left in a situation where I can't use my passenger seat due to safety concerns for the last year and now have no idea when this will be addressed.

20 Air Bag problem of the 2007 Audi S4

Failure Date: 09/29/2007

My 2007 Audi rs-4 quattro sedan had a brake malfunction of some sort that caused the front wheels to lock even while the esp system was active and abs was in proper working order and the vehicle displayed no warnings on the info display. The vehicle crashed into a guardrail while we were doing 40mph because it wouldn't turn in the curve at the bottom of the hill we were descending, a few times that day the car had a vibration go through it almost as though a tire was bad or a brake was dragging, with a slight burning smell to accompany it. But still no lights or warning displays came on, on our way to dinner my friend and I were descending the hill near to the restaurant we were gong to and the brakes didn't seem to grab at first then seem to have locked up. . We crashed doing a full 40mph. The angle we hit the rail at and the angle of the rail itself deflected us slightly causing the passenger side rear of the car to also hit it. Then as the rear hit the rail it bounced the rear out to the left causing us to hit the rail with the right front again then deflected us off of the small cliff on the opposite side of the road. Where the car was laying on its driver's side in the ditch and had run down 3 smaller trees, all this energy and damage, yet none of the airbags deployed not even the head curtains, as a result I suffered head injuries a fractured t3 vertebrae alot of muscle strains and a sprain plus nerve damage that disabled me from feeling my lower extremities and feet for a few days, my friend whom was driving suffered a contusion on his brain that bled for a while and could have caused him to become paraplegic. He struck his head on the b-pillar and steering wheel, even though we both wore our seat belts, which my belt had to be cut off as it wouldn't unlatch. I have looked on a few Audi forums and have seen complaints from other rs4 owners. I hope this can be addressed, thanks.

21 Air Bag problem of the 2004 Audi S4

Failure Date: 07/24/2007

I have an Audi S4 convertible that has been to the dealership multiple times for the same safety issue. The airbag system has been defective and the repairs do not seem to be taking hold when they do them. So far there fortunately has not been a need to use the airbag system, however its unavailability is a major cause for concern.
