Our gas tank fuel level sensor is faulty so we can no longer tell how much gas is in our car. The check engine and fuel light are permanently on. This fuel sensor malfunction caused me to run out of gas in the middle of the road. The only way to fix it is to replace the entire gas tank at great expense. We were quoted $3500-$4000. We only have 44k miles on the vehicle.

I smelled a super strong gas smell from my car leaking somewhere in the engine hidden by other parts, it smells so bad it’s hard to be in the car it’s a fire hazard. Due to the fuel the car hardly starts due to the fuel not getting to the engine.

Fuel gauge does not move at all and showed tank was 5/8 full. However, when I was on the freeway, the vehicle stalled because I was out of gas. Luckily, I was on the right lane and therefore was able to pull over to the side without an incident. This is a new vehicle with faulty fuel sensors. Audi should have qc'd before releasing the vehicle for sale.

Whenever the ambient temperature outside goes above 95f degrees or I sit in traffic for long periods of time the shuts off. Other times it stalls. There are no warning lamps that turn on to warn of impending shut off. When the car was scanned for codes my scanner shows a “low fuel pressure” code or “steam bubble formation” code.

I own an Audi 2015 S5 cabriolet. I bought this new from strong Audi in salt lake city. On September 2, 2022, I was driving it on I 15 south of provo ut. I was in the middle of 5 lanes of traffic all driving approximately 80/miles per hour. Suddenly, the engine shut down. Thank god the drivers around me were able to avoid me as I had to coast to the right lane at very slow speed. As explained by the service representative at strong Audi my vehicle has a tendency to vapor-lock in high temperatures resulting in the engine shutting down! he further explained that parts were available for $ 2,200 to correct the situation, but since my vehicle was out of warranty this would be my responsibility. I am of course having the work done.

Car started of going on limp mode about once a month then it started to get more frequent. Limp mode was supposed to be designed to put your car into a lower gear to protect the transmission, but instead of doing that the car would shift itself into neutral position while on the freeway causing me not have a full control of the car making it very dangerous to pull over. As soon as I turn off the car and turn it on the car would run normal again. While driving on the freeway it will go off on limp mode into the neutral without warning. Right after that the car would start having starting up problems so I had to pay money out of my pocket to have the ecu replaced and the fuel regulator replaced as well. As of December 2016 I started having new problems with the fuel system. Seems to me like that limp mode has affected my whole car and it has to be fixed. The car is not safe to drive but it is my only form of transportation. I took it to Audi dealership and they said the limp mode was related to the triptronic module that was located inside the transmission and it was a $5,000 fix. I have found out that putting the car into sport mode would make it less likely to get itself into limp mode than driving the car normally but even though driving the car into sport mode while driving on the freeway the car will still get itself into limp mode making the car unsafe to pull over the car. I almost got hit once trying to change lanes while the car was shifted into neutral without warning.
