1 Crankshaft Position Sensor problem

Failure Date: 11/28/2010

In November of 2010, I was driving in my 2004 1. 8 Audi Tt at approximately 45 miles per hour. Without warning, the car lost all power in the middle of the road. Fortunately, the car lost power at 1:00 am or I may have been easily hit/killed by the heavy flow of daytime traffic. As it turns out, there was an ignition coil recall on my vehicle. I never received notice of such recall and as a result, was put in danger by operating a vehicle with a known defect and suffered over two thousand dollars in related repair expense. The mechanic at Audi told me my fuel pump, collant temp sensor, crank sensor and ignition coil needed to be replaced. He was quite surprised that the previous Audi dealership did not correct the recall during routine service. My vehicle was perfectly maintained, serviced by an Audi dealership and had approximately 32,000 miles. Failure of Audi to notify me of the recall and failure of the Audi dealership to correct the ignition coil during routine service could have resulted in grave injury. Both Audi corp and the individual Audi dealership displayed a careless disregard for my safety and any others who may have been impacted by my vehicle failure.
