The contact stated that before the loss of control there was an abnormal sound like metal striking the ground from the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated slowed the vehicle and was able to drive back to the residence. The contact stated that he observed that the rear driver's side tire was leaning into the wheel well at an angle. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. 2 Service Brakes problem of the 2013 Audi TT

Failure Date: 07/06/2018

I was driving on I-64 east of richmond va when I felt the car shudder and then suddenly the car began gliding over the lane markers to the right. I tried to keep thewheelsstraight and slow down gradually but the rear end slowly kicked out to the left side. By the time I knew it I was directly facing the right-side guardrail and moments later the vehicle tapped the guardrail just enough to bust the driver's side and peel back thehooda few notches.

the vehicle came to a rest after doing a near-180 degree turn and ended up facing oncoming traffic. Theenginewas still running perfectly fine with no dash warninglightsso I tried to move it in 1stgear, 2ndgear, and reverse, but the car would not budge! I then dialed 911 and evacuated my girlfriend and I from the car.

state troopers arrived shortly after and we tried pushing the car in neutral but the vehicle would not move an inch. When the wrecker arrived and tried to pull the car onto the flatbed, we found that both rear wheels were locked and immobile. At no point did the dashboard ever show any sign of any system failure. Thankfully impact was not even enough to deploy airbags.

the state trooper's report says that the incident was not due to driver's error and I am convinced that a failure onboard the vehicle occurred that caused the rear wheels to lock. The car has received every requiredserviceat theAudidealership in el paso TX and it was garaged much of its life. Although 5 years old, the car only has 13,000 miles.
I have already filed an insurance claim and contactedAudiof America to raise some attention so as to look further into what happened. I am currently awaiting a formal diagnosis from the Audi dealership in richmond va and then will follow up with Audi corporate.

3 Service Brakes problem of the 2002 Audi TT

Failure Date: 08/03/2012

Parking brake disengaged on 3 occasions: button popped off parking brake handle, as if shot from a gun, and car rolled backward. 1st instance was prior to August 2012 but no damage because I was still in the car and stopped it. 2nd instance in Aug. 2012 car rolled backward into another vehicle in a parking lot, resulting in damage to my rear bumper and extensive damage to other vehicle, which was parked. 3rd instance on 5/11/13, car rolled backward down driveway. I tried to get in the car to stop it, but was not able to stop it until the driver door was caught and ripped past its normal maxium opening, extensively damaged. In Aug. 2012 after the 2nd incident, the emergency brake was checked by Audi dealer, who said they could glue the button back on but reported nothing wrong with the parking brake apparatus. Rear brakes were replaced as they were worn and dealer said the parking brake engaged the rear brakes and the worn brakes could have caused the failure. Car has received all required maintenance from the same Audi dealer. I am sole owner of car. After 5/9/13 incident, dealer refused to acknowledge any known defect, denied responsibility for damage, did not offer any sort of compensation for damage to vehicle(s) or to repair brake.
