Tl-the contact owns a 2008 BMW 135 I. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who stated that the high pressure fuel pump failed. The high pressure pump was replaced twice, however the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and extended the manufacturer's warranty. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 2,000. The currrent mileage was 34,000. Yn.
My 2008 BMW 135i started taking 10-20 seconds for the vehicle to start. The problem has been ongoing for a couple of months now. I took the vehicle to a BMW dealer and complained about it. The dealer informed me that BMW informed them that it was normal for the vehicle to do this. And told me that they couldn't change the fuel pump, which has been known to go bad on this vehicle, until a code was detected. Today, while trying to merge in traffic on the highway, the car suddenly had reduced power and I couldn't accelerate. I was very fortunate that there was no car behind me or the incident could have been disastrous. The car also showed an icon on the dash that indicated the car had gone into limp mode or reduced power mode. This is a serious safety issue, which could have resulted in serious injury or death if a car had been behind me. Please look into this problem before someone is injured.
