Takata recall I received a letter from BMW USA dated September 2017 telling me that parts were available to satisfy this recall and to make an appointment right away to have the airbag replaced. I made an appointment and it was cancelled because the dealership "didn't have the parts and didn't know when they would get them". BMW cannot tell me when they will have the part, despite sending me a letter stating that they "have the necessary parts to complete this recall".

Takata recall BMW has stonewalled me! they say I can have a loaner. Wonderful, except it's not a BMW since all late model Bmws have been recalled. I can't sell my car because no one would want it pending a recall that has not been addressed by BMW or takata. When I inquired about the recall loaner agreement, I was told I would need to sign an agreement for a 2-3 year rental and not drive my car except for a weekly startup and back and forth in the driveway to be sure the battery was good. I am now looking into a class action suit. I have several friends with more recent models subject to this recall and they are hopping mad and ready to go to court. It is completely unacceptable that neither company, BMW and takata, have owned up and shown what they will do about it. Instead, all we customers hear is "yes, it's a terrible situation, but there is nothing we can do but offer you the loaner. " well, there is something we owners can do. We are a litigious bunch!!.

Takata recall I live in a gulf state, sarasota county. Received safety recall in March 2016. Immediately contacted dealer. Again in April. They were to call me to install new airbag. Oct 24 contacted dealer again. No return call as promised. Called 10/27 and was informed that the original list of recalled BMW's from March was not available and since I had called in again they would now put be on a list for the safety recall. This continuing delay and game playing on the part of BMW north America and my dealer BMW of sarasota is unacceptable. If I hadn't called again I would not have been but on their "list" for the part to be ordered. No other assistance is offered by the dealer. My safety is at risk as I continue to drive this defective vehicle.

Takata recall in March 2016 I received a letter informing me of a defective front air bag. The letter mentioned the parts were not available but I would be notified when they would become available. I have had my vehicle serviced several time since. The last was June 26, 2017. Each time I am informed the parts are not available. I understand the safety risk of this recall could result in serious injury or death. I am deeply concerned. Its been over a year. What should I do?.
Takata recall notified by BMW in March 2016 but still not repaired.
