BMW 135 owners have reported 14 problems related to other fuel system pump (under the other fuel system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle stalls when more than 1/8 throttle is applied, vehicle has difficulty starting. Check engine light comes on when applying small throttle inputs. The 4 previous years of this vehicle make and model, the high pressure fuel pump has had a known problem which resulted in a class action lawsuit that adjusted the warranty period for the four previous model years up to 120k miles. BMW made slight changes to the engine for the next model years, but left the exact same part that resulted in the original lawsuit settlement. That part is the point that failed on my vehicle. Should the warranty extension they agreed to in the settlement apply to all makes and models BMW made with the same defective part? this problem caused my wife to be stranded in the middle of the freeway and had to be towed out of the lanes of traffic.

I have been having misfires. First cylinder 3&5. Changed all plugs and coil packs. Ran well for a couple days. Then boom. Misfires again. Long cold start cranks. I can bring the rpms all the way up to redline as long as I don't step on the throttle more than 25%. As son as I go to put so throttle into it. It's hesitates/stutters. Then service engine soon and cel light come one. The high pressure fuel pump is the culprit. Same type of problems I had on my n54 motor. I thought BMW fixed this issue. Guess they need a recall on these as well.

Fuel pump was part of earlier recall. The replace fuel pump was given a 10 year extended BMW warranty. This new replaced just failed and BMW said the warranty was only extended from the year the vehicle was made and not the actual replace new fuel pump. A complete deceptive marketing by BMW. I was told the new fuel pump would have a 10 year warranty. But that was not the case. The new replaced fuel pump stopped in traffic causing serious issues. Luckily no accident.

Cars' idle has been fluctuating for a couple of weeks at idle. Vehicles fuel pump has been replaced 2 times already through out it's life. Last week (July 13,2017) car died in the middle of the road and I had towed into the dealership that same morning. Dealer refuses to take any initiative to fix the problem at all. I have software where it shows that the cars vehicles high pressure fuel pump is failing. Car is throwing codes too. Car was in motion when fuel pump died on me in a city street.

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 BMW 135 I. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who stated that the high pressure fuel pump failed. The high pressure pump was replaced twice, however the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and extended the manufacturer's warranty. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 2,000. The currrent mileage was 34,000. Yn.
At 8,532 miles my BMW 135i had a high pressure fuel pump failure that caused my car to decelerate below the speed of traffic. At 24,384 miles the car illuminated a engine caution for over temperature. The only gauge available was for oil temperature which did not indicate hot. There was not a shoulder to pull over for 3 miles.
The contact has a 2010 BMW 135. The contact stated that the vehicle is losing power in the high pressure fuel pump. The vehicle does not stop running, however the vehicle loses power and slows down. The contact tried to accelerate while changing lines and the vehicle lost power and did not accelerate. The failure and current mileages were 1807.

While driving, my car all of a sudden lost power and began to shake. The check engine light went on and the car went into "limp mode". I toot the car into the dealership and the fuel pump had to be replaced. The car has only 6500 miles and is 4 months old. This is the second time this has happened. The first time occurred at two months old with 2500 miles. This is very dangerous being that it happened on the fwy with no warning, I had to immediately pull over and turn the vehicle off and then back on. This is unacceptable for a new vehicle. I had my family in the car when it happened the second time and now feel the vehicle is unsafe for my family. Please make BMW recall this problem. Extending the warranty on the fuel pump is not sufficient and the problem needs to be addressed.
My 2008 BMW 135i started taking 10-20 seconds for the vehicle to start. The problem has been ongoing for a couple of months now. I took the vehicle to a BMW dealer and complained about it. The dealer informed me that BMW informed them that it was normal for the vehicle to do this. And told me that they couldn't change the fuel pump, which has been known to go bad on this vehicle, until a code was detected. Today, while trying to merge in traffic on the highway, the car suddenly had reduced power and I couldn't accelerate. I was very fortunate that there was no car behind me or the incident could have been disastrous. The car also showed an icon on the dash that indicated the car had gone into limp mode or reduced power mode. This is a serious safety issue, which could have resulted in serious injury or death if a car had been behind me. Please look into this problem before someone is injured.
