Other Fuel System Problems of BMW 325

The valvetronic actuator malfunctions. The malfunction may have been caused by a battery positive cable that has corroded over time. The result is that the vehicle stops unexpectedly during acceleration. Driver safety and that of others is put at risk due to the vehicle suddenly losing power and stoping while being driven. The vehicle was evaluated by the dealer. Warning lamps were intermittent and inconsistent. To my knowledge there is no valvetronic actuator or battery cable specific warning lamps or messages. There was a 2017 recall for the battery positive cable, but my specific VIN was not covered (by a few months). My VIN (1986 325i) should have been included in the 2017 recall.

Since the airbag was not fixed, it has caused pvc meltings as well as leakage.

Fuel tank bracket on the passenger side sheared off causing the strap supporting the tank to fall off and hit the ground resulting in sparking from the free end. Safety risk to occupants due to fuel tank hanging close to ground and sparking in close proximity. I inspected and determined car is unsafe to drive. No replacement parts available for repair as brackets are spot weld at manufacturer. Several BMW car owners have experienced the same issue on the same side and some have performed risky self fabricated solutions. This is a fire concern and a flawed BMW design that needs proper correction before fatalities occur.

I'm starting to lose gas mileage and a very strong smell of gas inside and outside of car .

My car is leaking gas and I am afraid to drive it. I had to take it out of the garage because of the gasoline smell. My seatbelt light is on and my mechanic said that I need new seatbelts.

The problems I am having with my car include: high rpms when accelerating, massive gas consumption which I can provide bank statements to prove, massive coolant consumption, numerous oil leaks, rough idling, engine rattling, foul smell of vapors in the car while running, and constant car shaking. My car will cut off completely if the a/c is turned on or if sitting at a red light, so in return I would have to put my car in park while sitting at red lights. All of this is due to the pcv valve. This recall was not made aware to me if though I took my car to get serviced at the BMW dealership after the recall was announced. This is why I asked for goodwill assistance from BMW. Once my car was taken in to fix the recall BMW told me they would not help financially with the repairs of my vehicle due to the fact of the year and mileage. Corporate told me this after I had to chase them down all day because the dealership told me they needed a answer by 12pm and needed the loaner vehicle back. Once I received the answer of no I asked cody campbell if the recall was fixed . He replied saying yes. I drove to the dealership to then be sent back home because they said they were sealing some of the leaks for safety purposes. I found this odd because if you looked online and still look now as of 10:09pm on 10/05/2019 the recall still has not been fixed.

While parked in my driveway I noticed fuel smell outside the drivers side of my 2006 BMW 325i also the car was hard to start meaning the starter was cranking excessively to start the car. I brought the car to the BMW dealer and they found the drivers side sending unit leaking fuel under the back seat of the car. They replaced the sending unit (part no. 16-11-7-163-295) and my car is good now but it seems like this has the potential to be very dangerous and the repair cost me $529. 00.

The valve cover gasket keeps leaking oil. I have fixed this twice in the last 30k miles. Now it is leaking again. Valve cover gasket should not go bad every 10k to 15k miles. If neglected it will cause engine fire due to oil.

The contact owns a 2006 BMW 325i. While driving various speeds, the contact smelled a fuel odor inside the vehicle. While the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed a puddle of fuel under the vehicle. When he drove off from his garage, there was a trail of fuel following the vehicle. The contact also noticed, under the rear driver's side of the vehicle, a strong odor of fuel. The fuel sending unit was covered with fuel and the lacking ring that secured the fuel sending unit was corroded. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.

My wife was driving down a main street at rush hour. The car just stopped running and would not restart. To leave the vehicle my wife had to take her life in her hands to get across the busy street. It was fortunate that this did not happen on a busy freeway or she or someone else may have been seriously injured.

On 4/27/2015, driving in rush hour traffic at about 5:30 pm, the car stopped moving forward and did not respond to pressing on the gas peddle. Fortunately, due to slow traffic, we did not get hit from behind. If this had occurred at night and/or at usual traffic speeds, we could have been seriously injured or killed. 911 responded, pushed us to the shoulder and then aaa towed the car.

While driving in normal rush hour traffic my wife heard a loud pop from the engine compartment. The car lost power, brakes. She started to coast to the side of the road when other commuters started to yell at here to get out of the vehicle, at that time the cabin started to fill up with smoke. She tried to lower the window but that had lost power also. She was able to drive the car into the snow at the side of the road to stop it and then exited the vehicle. The 325xi started to burn and shortly was a total loss. Thank god she got out ok but was traumatized by the incident. Since this happened we have found many similar fires documented on the web.

Tl-the contact owns a 2006 BMW 325i. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the low coolant light illuminated as the vehicle over heated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis where it was stated the water pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 88,000. Kmj.

Total engine failure. Air bag lights illuminated. Air condition failure. Several electrical component failures. Incident occurred at idle speed at stoplight. Currently window system failure due to automobile accident. Window were slow to roll prior to the accident. Reported to BMW denied for warranty coverage. Rear side highway speed contact airbags failed to deploy resulting in medical injury on October 11th 2013. Window now inoperable BMW still fails to acknowledge any responsibility to design flaw.
