3 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2006 BMW 325

Failure Date: 04/14/2014

The doors on my car are locked and will not open. I called BMW and was advised that this is a common issue but not considered a safety issue. Once the doors are locked they cannot be unlocked regardless if you are in or out of the car - there is no manual way to open them. So essentially because of the issue if you were in the car you would be stuck. I was also told that this has happened to 1000s of BMW's and its a known issue but BMW wont recall. How can being stuck in a vehicle with no way to exit not be considered a safety concern?.

4 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2003 BMW 325

Failure Date: 08/08/2013

Vehicle has recurring locking issue. When inside the vehicle, door locks stop functioning. Pressing door lock button will not work. Pressing button on remote will not work. Attemting to manually open door using door handle will not work. This is a safety issue. The last incident both myself and my child were trapped inside the vehicle in the heat and had to call 911 as we did not have the key to roll down the window. The front window had to be broken and we had to be removed through a window because the door locks would not release. We were taken to the hospital for heat stroke. When I investigated, I found a girl died due to the same issue. Why has there been no recall? you have been warned and this is a fatal issue. . Read more...

5 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2006 BMW 325

Failure Date: 07/01/2013

To whom it may concern: I am very frustrated with a current problem involving our 2004 BMW 325 ci (convertible) and the auto dimming rear view mirror. Our vehicle id is pl32177. The mirror has leaked releasing the corrosive acidic material used in the mirror. In 2004 the BMW technology booklet hi-lighted the auto-dimming mirror advantage, "innovative technology frees you from having to reach up and reset the mirror's dimming mode manually. . . . . . . Represents yet another contribution to driving safety". I now understand this problem has occurred to far too many BMW owners and that BMW is not standing behind its contribution to driving safety. Why wasn't a recall made when this problem was first identified. The corrosive material leaked onto the passenger leather bucket seat and the center console eating away the material. Our BMW dealer, rockville BMW, wants to charge $585 to replace the mirror, $200 to replace the console area and then gave us a phone number for someone in virginia to discuss fixing the leather bucket seat. We love our BMW, (even have a second 2010 BMW 325xi) and do not understand why this is not covered by a recall as a warranty issue. BMW has known of this problem for years and never notified car owners that this issue could cause severe damage when it occurs. The car barely has 39,000 miles, is garage kept and was purchased in may 2004. The auto dimming rear view mirror is now a safety hazard as it blurs everything that is in the rear view mirror. I look forward to your assistance to resolve this problem. Please let me know if you need any further information. Thank you. Russell d. Mcnish russmcn@aol. Com<mailto:russmcn@aol. 6 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2006 BMW 325

Failure Date: 08/08/2005

Consumer owns 2006 BMW 325i sedan. Vehicle came equipped with bridgestone turanza tires, 205/55r16. A low pressure warning light came on. According to the owner's manual, it could be driven up to 90 miles at 50 mph. The consumer drove the vehicle to a dealer, which was about 8 miles away, at about 45 mph and drove very carefully. Dealer told the consumer that BMW told him that run flat tires have been driven on lower tire pressure and were not reusable or repairable. Consumer had to pay $229. 43 for a new tire. There was nothing in the owners manual stating that tire would not be reusable if tire was used at low pressure. The tire did have warnings on it, but the print was so small that it took great effort to read it. There was no printed warning in vehicle or in vehicle owner's manual about not inflating tire or not repairing or reusing tire after it has been used in the run flat condition. There were no flyers or information from the tire manufacturer . The vehicle did not have the proper information in the manual or at least in some form with the vehicle, as in a tire manufacturer's warranty or brochure.
