1 Seat Belt problem of the 2006 BMW 325

Failure Date: 05/18/2023

Put a box of moderate weight into the passenger seat (hard drives) - probably 40 lbs. After driving for a few minutes and over a few bumps, the seat belt warning light came on because the seat sensor was tripped by the weight. Put the seat belt on to silence the warning. Shortly thereafter, both the seatbelt and passenger airbag warning lights showed on the dash, regardless of occupancy. Hooked up to scanning tool and cleared the codes but they always return. This is not a rare event from reading the online forums - it is likely due to the sensor mat in the seat for occupancy being defective, or a combination of that and the seat belt pre-tensioner being defective, for the passenger side only. The vehicle operates normally other than the warning lights. Obviously have not tested the airbag, but that is highly unlikely to be the actual problem from my investigation of the symptoms.

When putting on seatbelt on both driver and passenger side the seatbelt will go in and moments later during driving it will unclique and come off this happens every once in a while not all the time. Just happens while the vehicle is in motion and stationary mostly while the vehicle is stationary. You can hear it click and sometimes I even pull it to make sure it is clicked in because of this problem and sometimes after I do that it will unclick, it happens mostly on the driver side but every once in a while on the passenger side not know if this happens in the rear seat belts.

6 Seat Belt problem of the 2006 BMW 325

Failure Date: 11/18/2018

BMW 325ci 2006 front left adaptive headlight wiring deteriorates over time. This cause the wiring to crack and fail. The front left headlight failed while driving, creating a dangerous situation for the driver and others on the road. When the wiring fails the driver cannot display turn signals, use high beams or any headlight functions. BMW does not provide a solution or help to fix the issue. The vehicle was in motion at night when the headlight failed. The part is the front headlight igniter wiring harness. The failure happened inside a sealed compartment and is not exposed to any outside elements. This is a common issue, a google search will bring up multiple other cases of failure in other cars with pictures. BMW 335ci 2006 rear tail lights short out frequently while driving and do not display turn signals. A fault is shown on the dashboard. This happened at night while the vehicle was in motion and does not go away. The warning light is only displayed after the turn signal is turned on. BMW 325ci a front airbag warning light was displayed while driving and does not shut off. This happened when the vehicle was in motion and does not shut off. 7 Seat Belt problem of the 2006 BMW 325

Failure Date: 05/09/2018

I am frightened to death that the aforementioned recall of almost the entire srs controls was not properly fixed. Duplicated warnings for both have been a daily problem and an exact replica of the symptoms prior. No accident to report, yet a completely valid potential cause for bodily harm! my other car is 16 years old and just was in for a new and active recall as the bags were deploying shrapnel and plastic. . . . And she's 16 years old! I appreciate your help and consideration! looking forward to a prompt response! I'll be driving it to my nephew's wedding at fort campbell army base.

I have received a sensor light stating that I have a passenger restraint malfunction. Then it goes away after a few days until someone else sits down which would lead me to believe that it has to do with the pressure sensor mat on the passenger side. I have read that this happens to be a recall for BMW but my VIN apparently is not covered in the recall. I am extending this complaint in the hopes that BMW will investigate and extend the recall to more models with this issue.

The passenger seatbelt/airbag warning light was on and off from time to time after around four years of my purchase in 2005. The problem might have existed earlier; however, as my vehicle usually did not carry any passengers, I did not notice the problem within the warranty period. Recently, the light would not even go away. My mechanic informed me about the recall number 13v564000, stating the "owners of model year 2006-2007 3 series with standard seat . . . Will receive an extended warranty on their front passenger seat occupant detection mat. " I have contact BMW, but they said the recall and the extended warranty would not be applicable to my vehicle.

19 Seat Belt problem of the 2006 BMW 325

Pass. Restraint system fault message. Few days went by with this fault message coming on and off. Now its currently staying on. After searching on the web, I've found many other BMW owners with the same issue, but only a few models are covered under recall (08v384000). After search my (VIN) show no current recalls. Recall (08v384000) states 2006 year 3-series. How can this only be limited to some 2006 ,but not others with the same problems? vehicle has around 86k miles. Thanks.

20 Seat Belt problem of the 2006 BMW 325

Failure Date: 09/03/2015

I recently purchased a used 2006 BMW 325i with the intentions of letting my daughter drive it, due to the high safety ratings of these automobiles. I called the dealership about some issues with the transmission, and some warning lights on the dash indicating a problem with the seatbelts and airbags. When I inquired about the warning lights, the service writer of the dealership in meridian ms told me that it sounds like the seat mat was faulty. Later I googled info about the seat mat, and I came across a link that shows my should have been recalled due to this issue. I called the dealership back and was told there was no recall for this car. I called nhtsc and left a message about my inquiry, and I was called back promptly by mr. Nate hayes. After I explained the situation to mr. Hayes, he did some checking and found that although some 2006 325i's weren't recalled (the ones with manual seats) mine however should've been recalled due to having the electrically adjusted sports seats. Mr. Hayes instructed me to call the dealership to see if maybe this work had already been done on my vehicle. Upon calling the dealership back, I was told that it hadn't been done, because my vehicle wasn't in the recall. After questioning him more about it, he told me that he was able to find that BMW has extended the warranty on my car to 15 years with no mileage limitations, if that is what was wrong with my car, but if not, I would be charged for the repair. What concerns me about this, is the fact that BMW was mandated by the nhtsc to recall a certain list of automobiles to prevent injury, rather than wait to see if problems occur later that could result in injury and/or death. I don't know if others that should have been recalled were put off by BMW or not, but this could have some deadly consequences.

21 Seat Belt problem of the 2006 BMW 325

Failure Date: 08/03/2015

My 2006 BMW 325i has dashboard warning lights that continue to come up after much time & effort has been spent to get them fixed. The airbag warning light, the seat belt warning light, & the flat tire monitor warning light have caused much stress & frustration due to the issues not being addressed after multiple attempts with the dealership as well as other independent companies. I am worried that if an accident does occur that my safety will be in great danger & this is something that every car owner understands. I am at a loss at this point & do not want to continue to spend countless dollars when the ends do not justify the mean.

23 Seat Belt problem of the 2005 BMW 325

Failure Date: 05/02/2015

When the vehicle is droven over a bump, the wiring harness below the passenger or driver seat may become loose, causing a high resistance in the srs system and causing the srs error light to illuminate and an error code to be saved, the system may become inactive, and in the event of a crash, the srs system may not function, and may lead to injury or death which could have been avoided had the connectors not come loose and deactivated the srs system. This has been observed on numberous e46's of various years.

Failure Date: 01/21/2014

I purchased the vehicle one week ago with the airbag and seatbelt lights on the dash, after plenty of research there was a recall done on only the sport seats. After everything I read even the non sports seats, like mine are having the issues as well. BMW needs to fix this issue with all models. I have no clue at this point if the airbags will even go off in the event of a crash. Plenty of complaints on the site about this same issue. Please help.

30 Seat Belt problem of the 2006 BMW 325

Battery was low and wouldn't start jump started the car and received a message that the seat belt restraint tensioner is bad. Has a seat belt with airbag symbol on the dash. . . Plus the vehicle started showing a symbol with a steering wheel with arrows then the car won't start until I shake the steering wheel several times. . . Was stranded for hours then finally it started. BMW has very low quality and problems. This is becoming very unsafe and not sure if I want my family in this unsafe vehicle.

The rear door lock is not working - the handles do not open the door from the inside - the lock actuator is faulty and needs to be replaced again. So far I have had the front door lock actuators and the rear driver side actuators replaced. BMW will not fix the actuators even though the part has been changed out before, is a known issue, and the actuators have been superseded two times by BMW.

33 Seat Belt problem of the 2006 BMW 325

Failure Date: 08/01/2013

My vehicle seat belt restraint system is not working properly. There is warning on my dash of a malfunction and after some research my vehicle VIN number is not under the recall. 34 Seat Belt problem of the 2006 BMW 325

Failure Date: 06/03/2013

Air bag and passenger seat belt indicator on center dash cluster lit up during normal driving. Took car to dealership for repair and was told the air bag seat mat was bad and needed to be replaced. Also told that repair would cost $900. Decided to eat cost as it is a major safety issue as air bags will not deploy during a crash. Total cost for repairs: qty 1 part# 52-10-7-244-127 basic seat u 1 cost $385. 10 , qty 2 part# 52-20-1-964-201 clip 13 cost $3. 84 , qty 35 part# 52-10-945-543 clamp 134 cost $$22. 40. Total parts=$411. 34 ; total labor=$554. 60, total bill for repair=$965. 94. I would not mind if this would be the end of the issue, but it is not. I picked up the car from daniels BMW of allentown on June 14 2013, and today (June 21, 2013) the issue came back. 7 days after I had the car repaired for the issue, the exact same issue reappeared. This is a major concern of mine as the front passenger seat of my car is almost always in use by myself or my spouse. After doing a bit of reading on BMW online forums, I see that there is a recall for for the exact sensor mat as installed in my car, for almost all other seats containing the exact seat mat, but not for my car, and others like me. I have gone onto the BMW na website and did a recall search for my car and found that the recall does not apply to my car. This is a major safety issue for BMW and they should stand behind their product and repair all seats affected without question. I will be taking my car back to daniels BMW of allentown for courtesy repair and hopefully they will replace. . . Again. . . . The broken mat for free. Hopefully this will not be the beginning of an ongoing reoccurring issue.

35 Seat Belt problem of the 2006 BMW 325

Failure Date: 05/01/2013

The red passenger-side air bag and seat belt lights come on and stay on, whether or not anyone is sitting in the passenger seat. BMW has told me it will cost $1,300 to replace, yet it seems from other complaints here and from other online forums that the mat sensor causing this problem was defectively manufactured.
