2002 BMW 325 xi. Consumer requests reimbursement for recall repair cost the consumer referenced recall # 11v438000. According to the dealer, too much current/electricity was flowing through the vehicle to the rear panel. Because of the voltage fluctuation problem, the rear warning lamp light was intermittently triggered. The invoice stated the contacts, connectors and wiring were burnt, the connectors needed to rewired, and the carriers and repetitive grounds were replaced.

2 Tail Light problem of the 2002 BMW 325

Failure Date: 07/01/2010

The contact owns a 2002 BMW 325i. While parked the contact noticed the drivers side turn signal was not functioning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The contact would disconnect and reconnect the pigtail wire for the turn signal to function. The turn signal would function intermittently but after some time the turn signal stopped working completely. The contact noticed one of the connecting wires had melted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the turn signal housing was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number: 11v438000 (exterior lighting:turn signal) that could possibly have been related to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised that the VIN was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000. 3 Tail Light problem of the 2002 BMW 325

Failure Date: 06/01/2009

Rear tail brake light intermittently works on and off, have replaced the light and this didn't fix it. Haven't had an accident yet, but are taking it in to the dealer to be repaired ASAP . Saw that BMW has a service bulletin out regarding this problem. Started failing 2 months ago and each time I open trunk and remove bulb -it seems to work for a while then out again.

4 Tail Light problem of the 2003 BMW 325

Failure Date: 12/01/2008

The contact owns a 2003 BMW 325i. The contact stated that the rear passenger side tail light would fail intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was advised that the vehicle was functioning as designed. There was a small electrical fire from the tail lights. The manufacturer was contacted, but denied assistance with the repair because the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 11v438000 (exterior lighting:tail lights . The failure mileage was 53,000 and the current mileage is 94,000. The consumer stated the intermittent issue with the tail lights was ignored for many years. Updated 02/23/12.

5 Tail Light problem of the 2003 BMW 325

Failure Date: 03/11/2008

The tail light assembly keeps failing. And I loose the tail lights. The first time this happened was in 2005 on the right hand side and now it happened on the left hand side.
