1 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2021

Shutters all the time even after coils replaced. Engine line comes on and misfires. Wiring all messed up especially headlights and seats. Abs light won't go off.

2 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2020

Headlight wiring harness sleeves have rotted, the exposed copper wiring can short inside the vehicle causing a spark, prolonged contact between bare wires will generate heat capable of melting the headlight unit and plastic components around it.

3 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2019

My car caught on fire while sitting in the driveway due to a faulty wiring harness that BMW failed to notify owners about. The car had not been driven in several weeks. If the car was in the garage multiple fatalities could have occured.

4 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2019

Received a recall notice for a blower motor wiring issue (17v-676) and an extension in limited warranty for the supplemental restraint system. BMW north America said they could not see the vehicle in there system and could not initiate repairs until it was. I purchased the vehicle in tennessee on 3/23/16, but saw in the carfax report that it was originally purchased overseas.

6 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 11/26/2018

Recalls for valve heater and blower motor wiring cannot be fixed until March 6, 2019. This date is very far and there should be closer dates to remedy these problems.

7 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 10/18/2018

Has been over a year and there is still no remedy for the blower motor wiring recall nor the positive crankcase ventilation (pcv) valve heater. This is ridiculous. What if my vehicle is one of the ones that start on fire, then what? if there is a recall, there is obviously a serious potential problem, so why are manufacturers allowed to have an excessive amount of time to come up with the fix?.

8 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 02/02/2018

I received notice of a potential airbag recall for my car. When I went to airbagrecall. Com website and entered my car info. I was given 2 recalls (not the airbag) that were issues in October. (pvc valve heater; blower motor wiring) it has already been 3 months since the recalls were issues and when I called to schedule an appt to have them resolved. I was told parts would not be available for 2-6 months. I consider 5-9 months to get safety issues on my car resolved unreasonable. The manufacturer obviously knew about the problem before the recall was even issued. They have had ample time to identify the quantity needed and ramp up production!.

9 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2018

The blower on my BMW 328i stopped worked. Shortly thereafter, I received two initial safety recall notices 17v-683 (pcv valve heater) and 17v-676 (blower motor wiring). I took my car to BMW of sterling on 01/13/2018. I brought copies of the two safety notices with me and I provided them to the service agent. The service agent said there was no remedy available and they would replace the blower and charge me $505 for parts/labor. I said this was unacceptable and I asked to speak to a service manager. The service manager reiterated what the agent said. If in the future it was determined to be related, I would get my money refunded. I said this was unacceptable and I left. BMW knowingly let me leave with a safety issue. In my opinion this is detrimental reliance.

10 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 11/21/2017

I have a recall for my BMW 07 328xi since November 2017. The recalls are blower motor wiring and pcv valve heater. Problem not resolve.

11 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2017

Received recall notices in October 2017 for positive crankcase ventilation (pcv) valve heater and blower motor wiring. BMW has not contacted us since then to do the repairs, and recall websites state they're not yet ready to do repairs. It's been almost a year! this is a failure on their part to remedy a safety measure in a timely manner.

12 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2017

Blower motor : this recall involves the wiring for the system, known as a blower-motor, that controls air flow for the heating and air conditioning system. Over time, the connection between the wiring and this system could deteriorate and, in rare cases, could lead to overheating. BMW has instructed people with theses vehicles to avoid parking in their garage due to potential fire risks. Pcv valve: this recall involves an engine component known as the positive crankcase ventilation (pcv) valve heater. The pcv valve heater may not have been produced to specifications. Over time, it could deteriorate and, in rare cases, could lead to overheating. Notification of recall occurred 10/25/2017, as of January 23, 2018. BMW still has no remedy or anticipated date for completing needed repairs.

13 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2017

Plastic insulation has cracked and peeled on all wiring inside my front headlight housings. Exposed wiring creates a potential short circuit and fire hazard.

14 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 11/12/2015

Headlamp wiring insulation is flaking off. All insulation of all wires in both headlamps has totally deteriorated within eight years of manufacture leaving exposed wires creating potential short circuit and fire hazard. BMW's solution is to buy another headlamp at $1,500 each which, presumably, will also deteriorate within the next seven to eight years!.

15 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 04/07/2014

The vehicle automatically unrolls all windows and the moonroof whenever it rains. This is flooding and ruining the vehicle, and causing moisture to enter the electrical system and cause a significant fire hazard. There is a burning smell from the electrical system. The issue, which is well known on the blogosphere, is due to a faulty and improperly installed wiring harness (installed crooked), an electrical short in pins 18 and 19 for the door lock actuator, and improper moisture sealing for the harness and actuator. The manufacturer refuses to acknowledge or address the issue.
