general problems of the 2008 BMW 328

The vehicle, stopped while driving, overheating, no heat/ ac. It's winter, car stopped at night in an unknown location fory safety. Had it inspected by 2 different auto shops and was confirmed of the issue. Warning lights came on right before the car failed.

My vehicle engine cooling fan caught fire one evening while following behind someone to make sure they made it to a parking lot safely due to their own vehicle having problems requiring them to stay under around 20mph. Once we made it to a parking lot, I exited my vehicle to check on the other person, and realized there was smoke starting to come out from under my hood. My husband waited for me to pull the hood release and then proceeded to lift the hood, only to discover my car was on fire, and it was coming directly from the cooling fan. After almost a minute we were able to put the fire out, and discovered the whole electrical area for the fan was melted and destroyed. There was never any type of warning light or any information at all that would have told me a problem was imminent. Im thankful it wasn;t myself alone or with my kids just driving down the highway because it would have taken over the whole vehicle before I would have known it was having any issues at all. The part is still on the vehicle, which has become inoperable and now any attempts to check the vehicle out have realized that another issues with BMW's is also causing problems with my vehicle. It appears an actual recall was never issued for my actual VIN, rather a collection of years and makes. Any further information or remedy that might get me the ability to actually use my vehicle again would be greatly appreciated. I can also include photos and witness statements if needed,. I suspected my mechanic of over 10 years was tampering with my vehicles telematics vehicle tracking software I was being tracked, stalked and followed. On 9/7/2022 I dropped off my car there was no tracking activity on my phone. I retrieved my vehicle the following day when I arrived I saw 3 other mechanics that I have never saw before an asian man mechanic with a laptop sitting on top of a 750i BMW plate: 5kzx788. Something did not feel right. The asian guy looked very familiar he was busy doing something on the laptop. On sept 9 2022 at 4:44 I called for help a few minutes before closing. I called manny the lead mechanic regarding the high level of radiation coming from my vehicle and also something was dragging underneath my car. He said I could stop by. When I arrived after about ten minutes I could see someone sitting in a vehicle I as standing next to. It was one of the mechanics I had never seen before. He was hiding in a white BMW with very dark tinted windows you could barely see him. I walked up to the vehicle that is when I spotted him. My first time seeing him was on September 7, 2022, when I dropped off my car. I pulled out my cell phone, and immediately saw my signal coming from his vehicle. He was bio-hacking me sending my bio metric signal to the vehicles on the street I could feel it in my head and legs. I have photos, video and technical documentation to support my claim.

The car was over heating and not starting as well as fuel pump error on my dash. There is an open recall on my vehicle starting March of 2022 it is now June and BMW says they don’t know when they will have a remedy for this and it could be months but I need my car.

Hello why you send me letters saying that , you guys gonna take my car away for what or why if its my car . If I dont have any warning or letters with the police that say my car gonna be taking away for no reason !? that doesn't make sense to me cuz im not the only person who's driving a BMW car . My car is in good conditions, few days ago I did the smokecheck. The car pass everything clean. Like is weird that BMW dealership send me this letter to me , if my car is mine , I already pay off my car and I dont nothing to do with BMW dealership because everything is good with my car. Keep getting the p0015 code changed all sensors that come with code and I keep getting a high pitched noise once car gets hot.

The plastic power pieces that goes over the battery melted. Ever since then I have had electrical problems. My concern is when that pieces melted it could have caused a fire. I dint even know it melted till I started have electrical problems and had to look at my battery. As far as the fuel problems I have a n51 and from what I understand the parts for it are hard to find I would like to know more about the BMW 15yr/150,000 mile warrenty that the BMW forms are talking about.

While coming to a stop or taking a turn the car will randomly shut off at which point I lose total control over the car. At this point I have to do my best to come to a stop safely and avoid any potential accident. The check engine light will come on once the car shuts down, but the car will start right back up afterwards and the check engine light goes away. The car will drive normal, but this happens often and scared as there is no warning sign of when this is going to happen to me; I have been lucky so far not to get into a major accident.

Good morning- this will be my 2nd attempt to send thiis information to you; the first time it gave a message, information not saved. - I have owned 3 BMW in the 3 series and I have noticed a pattern where the oil pan/ gasket leaks. I find this unusual for all 3 vehicles. The car I now have is now leaking. I would like you look into this and consider this matter for recall? it occurs while the vehicle is in motion and standing still. It may eventually lead to engine damage. During recall for 17v-676 blower motor wiring,it was determined blower motor was damaged by broken blades. While recall clearly states any additional components damaged will be replaced free of charge. BMW dealer charged me for replacement of said item. I am seeking a reimbursement of$ 490. 47.

I had a blower motor replaced 2 to 3 years prior to recall at a shop other than BMW . BMW of north America said I would be paid for the part but I needed to bring it to BMW to verify a BMW part was used. I brought it to BMW of bayside and they verified it was a BMW part. I had a copy of my bill from the repair shop with the BMW part and labor cost. Now they say I can not be paid because I need a receipt from an authorized BMW part center. Repair was done 3 years ago and the shop no longer has the receipt. I am writing to you for your assistance in obtaining the refund that I am due for this repair. Takata recall- my wife was driving home from work which is 1 1/2 miles from our home when her 2008 BMW 328i caught fire and burned, she said a puff of smoke care out of the ac vent then it quit blowing then hot slag was dripping out from under passenger dash the car is a total loss.

Vehicle stop blowing air through the vents heater and ac don't work vehicle was parked.

I have contacted the dealer for months trying to get a replacement airbag installed. I have received numerous letters in the mail saying they have the parts but once I go to make an appointment there are never any replacement parts available. This does not make it seem safe to drive. How do I get my repair done? thank you.

I went to the dealership 6 times, they were super unprofessional they did not try to help at all and all they said was you were going to receive a letter in the mail and that's what he says for the past six times, I feel like my life is in danger, I just want a solution for the problem and I don't got any.

Open recalls have no remedy within a timely manner. In October 2017, BMW announced 2 recalls affecting my car: (1) blower motor wiring and (2) positive crankcase ventilation (pcv) valve heater. Originally the estimated time frame for a fix for both issues was December 2017. It is now March 2018, almost 6 months after the recalls were first announced, and not only are the remedies still unavailable, but BMW has failed to communicate any information relevant to the affected issues. Due to the serious nature that these recalls could potentially pose, I find this absolutely unacceptable. The open recalls could potentially lead to the car catching on fire even when not in use. Although I have not yet been affected by the potential dangers of the recalls, every time I use the car there is a constant fear that it may happen due to the lack of remedies for the recalls.

Nhtsa recall number17v676 and 17v683 were issued in October 2017. I have not received my notice that parts are available. I have contacted BMW and they told me I would receive another notice in December 2017. We are past the deadline and I have no working ac or heater due to the fan going out and when I turn the car on I get a burn smell. I can't drive the vehicle.

My vehicle has 2 active recalls (campaign #17v-676 and 17v-683) both of which affect the motor and can result in fire to the vehicle. We have already experienced melting parts making the vehicle inoperable.

Right front passenger inside door handle broke. Door cannot be opened from inside.

Heard a noise when turning left therefore I took my car to the dealership for service. Immediately. As per report " found that bolts to motor mount support arm sheered off" - all 4 bolts were replaced. This car is only driven on even roads and only has 47,496 miles and had no incident that would cause this issue!!! this was on a city street.

The car is no good . . The company sold me a un safe car.

On the morning of July 25th, 2015, my friend went to pick me up from newark liberty International airport in my 2008 BMW 328 xi coupe. My car has been parked at her home in fairfield, NJ for approximately 7 days while I was away on business. She drove my car to the airport from fairfield, which is approximately 35 minutes. Then on our way back to my house, about 30 minutes into our ride, the sunroof exploded during the drive. I had the inside piece, closed which saved any personal injury from the glass. I brought it to BMW to get the window fixed and the total cost was approximately $1,250. BMW says that it was not a manufacturer default, but on a car that has only 53k miles, it was rather odd for that sunroof to just explode. Also to note, that during our drive back because it was 7am on a Saturday morning, there were no other cars or trucks around us that may have caused this damage which is what BMW suggested.

Experienced same problem noted in NHTSA campaign # 14v176000. Vanos bolt sheared off, connected to the intake camshaft, then timing chain broke and came off.

Windshield trimming deteriorating / passenger side inside door handle is melting.

Driver's side door would not unlock. I tried to unlock the door with the fob, central button on the dash, and the metal key stored inside the fob and nothing will unlock the door. The only way to get into the car is to open the passenger door and reach over to the driver side and pull the handle. With a child in the car in a safety seat, my concern is that all of the doors will subsequently fail and I will be unable to get myself and my child out of the car. I've seen numerous reports online about this very same issue for this year model vehicle and two years older - either driver's door only, passengers doors only, or all of the doors - and the only way to get out of the vehicle then is through the sunroof. This is a very serious safety issue.

I was driving my 328i in the morning on the way to work, in a residential neighborhood, traveling about 10 mph (in a school zone), when the windshield wipers suddenly came on without me turning them on. At the same time, my entire dash board control system panel and the area between the speedometer and tachometer lit up with several system error messages: 1) check control messages: control systems! drive moderately. Restraint system malfunction! transmission malfunction! cruise control malfunction! 2) pass. Restraint system: fault in passenger-restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt-force limiter. Continue to wear the safety belt. Transmisson malfunction! 3) transmission malfunction: functionality or display of gear position may malfunction. It may be possible to engage a gear without depressing brake pedal. Restraint system malfunction! 4) cruise control: cruise control malfunction. Have the system checked by your BMW center. Control systems! drive moderately. 5) control systems. Braking and dynamic-response system malfunction. Drive moderately. Avoid hard braking. Control systems! drive moderately 6) area betw speedometer/tach is lit up [e. G. Brake, abs, transmission and cruise warning symbols]. 7) the windshield wipers will not turn off as long as the car key is in the ignition. When you turn the car off, the wipers do not stop until the key is removed! the car had to be towed to the local dealership where I purchased it brand new. They say they are not aware of this problem. I also emailed BMW USA north America. My request is that you investigate these issues with BMW USA north America. Surely, they have more intelligence about the nature and scope of these types of problem and need to be transparent in advising consumers accordingly before the underlying cause of the defect leads to accidents and injuries.

Traveling at approximately 60 mph when a loud noise was heard. Car initially appeared to run correctly, however, a loud thumping sound (similiar to a flat tire) was heard when turning. Hard braking resulted in vibration. Upon inspection by the dealer, the right side motor mount bolts were found to be broken. Situation appears similiar to NHTSA id# 10435750.

My car suddenly stopped, engine turned off, started the car again and it work. Came back after dropping the kids and after the car in park, removed the key and fan was on. Tried starting the car and white smoke started coming out of engine compartment. Now the battery drain, car wont start, the dashboard flickers. Called BMW and told them and said the symptons point to recall issue, no response.
