I own a 07 BMW 328xi, on 10/03/12 I got out of my car and tried locking it and only two doors locked. The doors would not unlock with the fob or the door switch located in the car. In order to get into car I had to climb over the passangers seat and when it was time to get out the same had to happen. I called my local dealer and they told me that it was a actuator problem, so asked if there was anything I could do to get the doors unlocked till my appt. I made. He proceeded to tell me no and upon reading some forums he could have said use the key hidden in the fob to unlock the door or check the #57 fuse which controls the locks. Unfortunatly, I pretty dissapointed with my dealer because he could have potently put me in a dangerous situation, he could have told me these things but he choice to say nothing to get me in there. This is a know problem with BMW's and could be a dangerous problem if the car was to run off the road in a body of water and the person has to over seats to get because of the drivers door not being able to open.
I purchased a 2009 BMW 238i. I took it to get an oil change on 30 sept 11. I dropped it off, got a loner, and went to work. Before I dropped it off that morning the car ran great, it had no ticking, no engine lights nor loss of power. I hadno¿¿t heard from BMW so I called them, they said that they had talked to BMW na and I need to agree to them removing my valve cover, at my expense $700. I said that I only wanted an oil change. He told me they terminated my warranty. My warranty was for 4yr/50,000 miles, it had not expired. I was very upset and made multiple attempts to call BMW na and the supervisor told me that they would have to go with what the service center said and there was no one else to talk to. Disappointed, I picked my car up. The check engine light came on and while I was on the highway the car made some loud ticking noises and the car seemed to be experiencing some power loss, in the mist of high traffic. I was in the middle lane when it started and I immediately got over to got off the highway. And as I pulled off the highway the car suddenly shut off (no power), I barely made it off the road. It just shut off! I had to call for a tow. That weekend the car cranked up and it seemed to be nothing wrong. I took it around the block to see if it was okay. The ticking returned and the car shut off again and I had to coast it off the road onto church grounds and call a tow truck again. And now it will not crank at all. This is my only car and I have to rent a car. I did some research online and found several recalls, for example: BMW high-pressure fuel pump voluntary emissions recall and voluntary emissions and safety recalls and tons of complaints about safety and how BMW terminates a lot of people's warranties prior to their expiration date. BMW seems to be putting all of our lives at risk and terminating warranties at will.
I have a 2007 328xi that currently has 51,000 miles. It is the second time that my locks in the vehicle have failed. The locks previously failed around 30,000 miles and were replaced under warranty, but now out of warranty I will be left to foot the bill myself. In the most recent incident, I was unable to unlock the car using the key fob or the button on the dash. I found myself locked in the vehicle and had to exit through the driver's window. Luckily, I was able to unlock the car from the outside using the valet key. The windows and trunk works, but the locks do not. When I press the lock and unlock button on the key fob and dash, I hear an audible sound as the car is trying to lock/unlock but the actuators in the doors do not function. It is a serious safety hazard if passengers cannot exit the vehicle for any reason. Please initiate an investigation and recall immediately. BMW engineers must design new locking system components that are not defective and do not fail every 20,000 miles.
Door lock actuator failure: front door lock actuators failed disallowing exit from all doors except the driver's side front door. Passengers could only exit the vehicle by crawling out of the driver's side front door. The front passenger door and both rear doors could not be opened by using the interior or exterior doorhandles. Furthermore, the electrical system disallowed any unlocking of these three doors as well. Fortunately, the car was not involved in an accident during this door lock actuator failure. During the time of this incident, two people were in the car. The consequences of not having doors which can open from the inside of the car could prove deadly in an accident. A letter was written to BMW of north America, llc by the owner of this car in this report and their response on October 7th, 2011 was, "we have no response. ".

My 1999 nmw 328i wont go into reverse on occasions. The first time this happened I was in a dark parking area alone. The car gave me no warning. I had driven the car all the day and nothing happened. I got into the car later to go home and it wouldnt go into reverse. I was able to push the car so that I could go into drive which works fine. I took my car to the BMW place at 10,000 miles to get transmission serviced and they said that there was no need because it was a lifetime transmssion fluid. The BMW place in tallahassee florida capital euro checked the car. They kept the car for almost a month and the problem wouldnt happen for them so they couldnt tell me what the problem is. I took the car home and it was fine for about a week and started again. It doesnt do it often but im scared to drive it far or to much so im limited to where I can go because I cant afford a new transmission right now and my car is paid for.
I began to feel strong rapid pulsating and audible vibrations through steering wheel every time when I park the car. Once I experienced the same while driving at about 25 mph while making lane change to the right. And these vibrations and noise still continue to be felt since then.
Engine check light continued to come on, even though vehicle has been serviced by the dealership for this prolbem 3 times in the last 18 months. Please provide any further information.
