Two problems related to front air bag sensor control have been reported for the 2005 BMW 330. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2006 BMW 330xi (n/a). The contact stated that the air bag warning lamp illuminated on the instrumental panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that the front passenger sensor mat was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in the recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 08v3840 (component: air bags:frontal). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 96,000 and the current mileage was 96,010.
I have a 2005 330i BMW and the seatbelt/airbag sensor have been lighting up. I took it to the BMW dealership and they said that it is an internal error in the seatbelt sensor of the passenger side. I understand that this is a recall issue as stated by BMW and I would like to have it repaired as soon as possible. The model production # is km42802.
