Approached my parked car and noticed a 2. 5-inch gash in the sidewall of the tire. No warning light in dashboard. Tire pressure remained at recommended pressure. Previous driving was on 35 mph local roads with optimal driving conditions--clear weather and no road hazards. Drove vehicle to dealer to have tire replaced. Tire was covered under warranty but incurred labor expenses. (p225/45r18).

Driving on highway at 75 mph, tire "exploded" resulting in immediate loss of air pressure and some lack of steering control. Road conditions were optimal with clear sunny weather and no road hazards. Dashboard warning light appeared upon tire failure. Drove with hazards to dealership who replaced the tire at my expense. (p225/45r18) dealer made a video of their findings which revealed a 6- inch slash on the inside tire sidewall. See link: https://app. Mykaarma. Low-profile tires (shallow aspect ratio) offer no cushioning protection when encountering potholes. We have had four (4) blow-outs in the first year! tire manufacturers and car manufacturers profit from this poor design! it cost us over $600 for the first 2 tires irreparably damaged from a pot-hole! larger wheels and lower-profile tires can't be changed because the suspension and brakes are tuned to the low-profile design. My wife is ready to trade in the car! drivers are distracted looking at the pavement for pot-holes instead of watching other vehicles, traffic signals, etc. Have this safety hazard recalled! get restitution for millions of dollars consumer waste on this! car salesman never mentioned this problem -- dealers are literally keeping a low profile and laughing all the way to the bank!.
While driving at approx. 55 mph, tire exploded. Nothing left but the rim. No obvious road hazard. Tire and car were less than a month old.
Safety defect with low profile tires and wheels. (nar).
Tires are losing pressure. There is recall oov303000o for same probelm, but consumer's vehicle is not included. After taking vehicle into dealer tires went flat. Dealer was blaming consumer for that problem. But, consumer knew that tires were not like when he took them in. Dealer claimed three out of four tires had punctures in them and needed repair, the tires were plugged, consumer states tires are still losing pressure, consumer has replaced tires at his expense and states the tires still lose air even though they have been taken off the vehicle, michelin pilot sport, p245/40r17 and p225/45r17, dot number f36c.
Consumer states there is possible design flaw with the rims or continential tires, due to tires deflating at high speeds.
