39 problems related to air bag have been reported for the 2008 BMW 335. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
High pressure fuel pump failure could be the low pressure fuel pump not so sure got codes p3090 confirmed and p142e pending. The car was in motion when doing a turn the vehicle started to bog out and roughly idle I immediately turned to the right and shut the vehicle off tried to start it about three times in one minute intervals car would bog out and shut off threw me those two codes and a check engine light.
Takata recall.
Driving my car at 65mph the whole car shut down I had no control of the vehicle. Was barely able to power the steering wheel to the right and coast into a parking lot. Where I was still not in a safe place because my brakes had no response as well. Finally snatched up the ebrake and the car began to slow down. This is the second time this issue has occurred with me driving and I'm lucky to have my life after two horrific incidents like this. Also I have no air bag so if I wouldn't of been so lucky to not hit anything head on I would of not even had a airbag deploy. I was told by BMW my car shut down because of the water pump but when this was replaced after a $950 bill my car still doesn't work and now I'm being told by BMW now it will be another $500 to figure it out. I have not been able to drive my car free of concern for more than 6 months. As much as this car has shut down or stalled on me I don't feel it's safe for anyone to drive a vehicle like this. Got the car January 2015 and my warranty was used up within 1 year fixing the same parts repeatedly. No my car won't even start or run properly. This is after I go the water pump replaced like I was instructed by BMW. I didn't have enough to load that document but I have it available also.

I received a recall notice of a final remedy in July 2017. I have been on a waiting list for with a BMW dealership for months, who keeps telling me they are still waiting on the part from BMW n. A. The dealerships (fairfax, va and alexandria, va) are telling me that BMW n. A. Is the reason for the delay. They are simply not getting the parts in a "reasonable" period of time. How long is a "reasonable" period of time? a year?.

Takata recall. I purchased the vehicle in April 2017 from carmax with a open airbag recall and have been trying to get it done with the local BMW dealers since.
This car has been totaled out by my insurance company due to the frame being waped radiator busted suspension warped electrical issues with the blower motor this was the 1st first of my 4 Bmws to leave me owing money on a vehicle that isn't drivable location and issue unknown.
The air bags have been recalled due to them being unsafe and containing dangerous material that could send metal shards into the vehicle when the airbags deploy. We took the vehicle to the BMW dealer we bought it from and they said they could not fix the airbags and we had to just drive it regardless of the fact it was dangerous to do so. BMW is liable for the issues in the vehicle but is not doing anything to fix it. Hence, I get to drive a dangerous vehicle around with no safety features because of their negligence.

Takata recall I have been calling BMW for information regarding this recall since March of 2016 yet every time I call they say that they are still waiting for the parts to arrive and it should be soon. This has been on going since March and it is now almost November. I am just concerned about driving my car knowing that my airbag may potentially throw metal shrap metal if I was to get in an accident. I think its unfair to have to drive my car not feeling safe. I really just wish they can get a remedy to this problem within a timely matter. They have been saying the same thing since March and it does not look like it will be solved any time soon.

After receiving the airbag recall letter from BMW, I decided to call the near by dealership to schedule an appointment. I was told I will be contact by BMW once the parts are available for the repair. I asked for a timeline when should I expect a notification/email etc from BMW. He said mostly likely by the end of 2017 because there shortage on the parts and continue go say operate the vehicle as usual. He also indicated that there hasn't be a serious incident with BMW vehicles involving the airbag. It is unacceptable to have to wait until 2017 if not later for have the deadly defective part replaced. I am basically time bomb machine until one or two things 1. Fixed by 2017 or 2. Serious accident? does anyone gotten a decent respond inquiring with your BMW dealership?.

When the vehicle was involved in a frontal wreck coming into contact with a box truck at a dead stop from 55mph, the driver airbag deployed, becoming punctured and particles flying all over and cutting up my arm. This causing the airbag to be completely flat. Thank god for the working seat belt.
BMW occupancy passenger airbag mat failure similar to recall on 2007 335i.
My 2008 BMW 335i has the same issue for which the below recall was issued. The recall needs to be extended to 2008 model year. Recall subject : front seat occupant protection mat report receipt date: Nov 12, 2013 NHTSA campaign number: 13v564000 component(s): air bags potential number of units affected: 76,565 manufacturer: BMW of north America, llc summary: BMW of north America llc (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2006 325i, 325xi, 330i, 330xi sedans and 325xi sports wagons, model year 2007 328i, 328xi, 335i, 335xi sedans and 328i and 328xi sports wagons, model year 2006-2007 525i, 525xi, 530i, 530xi, 550i sedans and 530xi sports wagons, model year 2006 760i sedans, model year 2006-2007 750i, 750li, and 760li sedans, and model year 2006 x5 sports activity vehicles, equipped with certain seat types. The front passenger seat occupant detection mat that determines if and how the passenger frontal air bag should deploy in a crash may fatigue and develop cracks which could lead to a system failure. Consequence: should the system fail, in the event of a crash, the front passenger air bag would be deactivated, increasing the risk of personal injury. Remedy: BMW will notify owners with an interim notification letter in January 2014 since parts are not currently available. When parts are available, anticipated to be in March 2014, BMW will send a second letter and dealers will repair the occupant detection mat to eliminate the possibility that it may crack, free of charge. Additionally, owners of model year 2006-2007 3 series with standard seats, 5 series with comfort seats, and z4 models, will receive an extended warranty on their front passenger seat occupant detection mat. Owners may contact BMW customer relations at 1-800-525-7417 or email BMW at customerrelations@bmwusa. Com.
During normal driving conditions the airbag and seatbelt tensioner system fail lights came on. We drove home and the lights stayed on ever since. Tried resetting the computer system but lights remain on.
"pass. Restraint passenger" error massage, appeared the first time, I replaced the seat belt tentioner, the error massage disappeared, then came back on about 5 months after. I have a convertible model.
Fourth incident - on-board diagnostics indicate "malfunction passenger restraint system" in eleven months for same problem. Service yet to be scheduled with dealer. I know there was recall for same problem in 2006 for BMW 3-series. I think BMW is installing faulty seat mats.
