The contact owns a 2009 BMW 335i. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would independently enter into limp mode as a service transmission warning message appeared on the instrument panel. The contact would then restart the vehicle and clear all warning codes before he resumed normal driving operation. The dealer was notified and informed him that his vehicle was not under recall. A code reader determined that the cause of the failure was related to a defective fuel pump. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
