One problem related to carrier/rack has been reported for the 2008 BMW 3 Series. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Three bolts on engine mount bracket sheared off and one bolt on the same engine mount bracket was missing. The three bolts that sheared are in the engine block. This incident occurred only two weeks after bringing in my car to the peter pan BMW dealership to have my car inspected.
