The steering lock warning light in red display. I took to the dealer and they recommended me to replace the steering lock "elv" and program new control module. It cost $1,975. 00 to replace. I did some research and it seems this might be known problem to BMW, but yet, I have never heard about it, until the incident happened to me. When the warning symbol displayed, it display every time even when I open the door.

No star no light no power only light for steering lock.

Red steering wheel lock warning light. I've spoken to many BMW owners and have researched online and this appears to be happening quiet often.
Steering wheel lock warning light illuminated in red on dash. This is a common problem with 2006 325i series. BMW has discontinued this type of steering wheel column when building their 2007 vehicles because its an issue. Why hasn't this been recalled and why hasnt anyone taken action on the incident?.
I brought the vehicle in to BMW and stated that the steering wheel lock lights come on and the car will not start until a few tries. BMW could not find the problem, since then it has progressively gotten worst and reading forums, there seen to be a legitimate problem with this issue.
