1 Service Brakes problem of the 2013 BMW 3 Series

Failure Date: 06/06/2015

I was driving down I-5 south on June 6 at about 6. 30 pm with 2 of my friends. There was traffic on the highway and I applied my brakes after seeing the vehicle in front of me slowing down to a complete stop. My car slowed down but it would not come to a complete stop. It kept rolling. I pressed the brakes hard but I could feel a squealing feeling in the brakes and it just would not stop. It kept rolling. I released pressure on the brakes for a moment and applied full pressure again but still it would not stop. I felt like something was leaking as I pressed down on the brakes and the the complete hold and stop that happens after the brakes are pushed to the floor did not happen this time. I pulled the hand brakes but by that time it was too late. My car then rolled on bumped into the car in front of me which made it come to a stop. I would like to add that this has happened previously in the past. The first time it happened I had sent my car to BMW seattle when my car shifted to neutral by itself because of an engine failure and as it was rolling down I pressed the brakes but could not push it down. I hit a pavement by the right to make it stop . BMW seattle said that they could not find any fault even after me repeatedly telling them that it did happen and something was wrong. This issue resurfaced a few weeks back but luckily there was no one in front of me and after repeatedly releasing the brakes and pressing it hard with full force I made it come to a complete stop. Unfortunately this time I met with an accident because of this issue. I am now really unsure of driving my car anymore. Moreover my trust on BMW is compromised as they told me that this issue cannot and did not happen. If the service team cannot find a genuine fault with their system that is happening repeatedly I don’t think they can be trusted with the safety of the car.

6 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 BMW 3 Series

Failure Date: 12/27/2012

My name is ? and I'm having a serious problem getting my car fixed by the BMW dealership specifically the one located at edison, NJ. I've also experienced the brakes not working (2) when the car has been driven in bad weather, I. E. Snow and rain. Back in April (4/11/2013) BMW corporation a letter stating that if the above problem and other problems mentioned in there letter was evident, I needed to stop driving immediately and have the car serviced, which I did. Well the problem subsided for about a month then started up again (the problem is my car's dash board while driving will go completely or as you'll see in the attachment partially blank on me while I'm driving. When it goes completely blank the car shutters as if it wants to turn off). I wasn't able to make it back to the dealership until around 6/10/2013 to complain that the issue was still happening. On or around the 6/10/2013 date this same tech ran a diagnostic on my car (which I have the copy of). To make a very long story short I returned to the edison location today 7/17/2013 and text the same attachment to [xxx] members of the BMW management/service team, to my amazement I was told they couldn't find a problem, even though management agreed that via the picture their was a problem. At this point what will it take to find the problem listed in the above attachment? death!!!!!!!. . . . . . There is a brake and electrical problem with my car. Just in case anyone wants to make the assumption that in some way I'm trying to get over, please review my payment history, I pay for my car in advance. This is ridiculous!!!! I'm fearful to drive in bad weather, and I'm fearful that in the mist of getting driving direction from my car's gps it's going to black out on me, leaving me in the middle of now-where. Thank god the times it has blanked out, I've been able to figure out where to go. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

7 Service Brakes problem of the 2007 BMW 3 Series

Failure Date: 01/10/2012

After being service by dealer for 4 days which included the replacement of right headlight and abs and brake system the car caught fire which seem to be related to electrical system. While driving the car heavy toxic smoke started coming out of ventilator of ac system. I immediately step out of the car and in a few minutes smoke and flames located in the engine in front of passenger seat burn the car. Flames and black plastic were coming also under the glove compartment right in front of passenger seat. Dealer quoted $25000 for repair and insurance company declared it total loss. Car was delivered to dealer who has kept it for a month, engineer from BMW north America came and inspected but no report has been issued by them or dealer. This company has no concern for safety of consumers and should be penalize. After having owned six BMW's I feel these autos are not safe.

9 Service Brakes problem of the 2000 BMW 3 Series

Failure Date: 06/01/2011

I'm just concern if there is a recall to be fixed on my car (2000 BMW x3 2. 5i) I've noticed 2x already that while driving on the freeway my gas pedal accelerates speed. In December 2010 while driving on a slight snow, the car won't stop for a second when applying brakes; my front rotor and brakes were being replaced on March 7, 2011 at the dealer. My main concern here is the gas pedal acceleration. I would like to know how can I get a free maintenance free check service.

10 Service Brakes problem of the 2010 BMW 3 Series

Failure Date: 03/01/2011

I have a 2010 BMW 328i. The brake pedal and the gas pedal are too close together. When engaging the brake, my foot comes in contact with the accelerator and I am afraid that this may lead to an accident. I took the vehicle in for service and the dealership said there was nothing they could do. I have had other BMW's and have not had this issue. I also have a 2009 escalade and this is not an issue on this vehicle.

11 Service Brakes problem of the 2004 BMW 3 Series

Failure Date: 10/23/2010

2004 BMW 330xi sedan (e46) rear tail light indicator light consistently comes on, even though there is no tail lamp failure. Online community forums report that this is likely due to ground wire short in the tail lamp assembly. Cost of repair at dealership estimated at $700. Currently being investigated by NHTSA as ea09-019, but I'm wary of being overcharged by dealership for what should be a recall.

12 Service Brakes problem of the 2001 BMW 3 Series

Failure Date: 10/16/2004

BMW 330xi 2001 55,000 miles latest problem October 2014 lately when I start the car, press on the brake and put it in drive the engine revs all the way up and the car gets away from me. I have to stomp on the brake with both feet and pop the gear to park in order to stop the car. . . Clearly you can hear the engine revving at a very high rate getting traction while pressing on the brake. In the past I thought it was stupid me pressing the gas and brakes at the same time inadvertently . . . Or maybe the floor mat got in the way and accelerating when pushing on the brake - but neither of those are true. I have my right foot on the far left side of the brake pedal totally avoiding he gas pedal in anticipation of it happens and it happens anyway. Unfortunately it is an intermittent problem that can't be duplicated to show the mechanic. . . Any help would be greatly appreciated. . . I posted this on bimmerfest who suggested I post a complaint.

13 Service Brakes problem of the 2002 BMW 3 Series

Failure Date: 08/15/2003

BMW 325 I have experienced so many problems with my 325ci BMW, I bought the car in November, the car is not even 1 year old and I have taken to service four times already. My car is a 2002 and at this moment it has 10,660 miles. The car has a major computer problem. My abs seems to be malfunctioning as well as my emergency brake, and to make matters worse the transmission has been reprogramed and pieces are coming off in the inside. I have taken the car to service the past three weeks for the the computer and the body. Lucky BMW does have great service and I havent had to pay for a single repair. But I would really like to file a lemon law on the car because I know the problems with the car will never stop.
