The hub failed at 75 mph, the front left wheel fell off and the 1997 525tds hit the concrete median and rolled 2 and 1/2 times. Fortunately no injuries.
I have had 8 bent rims and had to replace 5 tires due to multiple bubbles in each tire since I purchased this vehicle in October of 2010. I have never had this experience with any other car I have owned.
The events leading up to the failure was normal driving. The rim had developed a crack after 50k miles. I have taken pictures of the cracks in the rim and can provide these if needed. I'm having the rim repaired because the cost is to high to replace it. This is a genuine BMW rim.
