See attached document for complaint. Greetings: I am writing pursuant to recalls no. 24v?608, both remedy unavailable and remedy available, ten months later. During the intervening ten months, I experienced hardship, expense and loss of use of my vehicle. The attached documents represent my correspondence to BMW customer relations. The docs were submitted on September 22, 2025 and October 14, 2025, by email. I have received no response, to date; not even acknowledgement of receipt. I hereby submit my belief that BMW has some responsibility for failure to cure the smoke condition they knew about for ten months. Please note the BMW service inspection of August 14, 2025 in which it was stated that my warning lights passed the inspection. Meanwhile, the warning lights on my dashboard look like a “xmas tree”. I am being ghosted by BMW and I have no power, unless you say I do. Please help in any way which is fair. Thank you.

After filled engine oil, then, warning light showed low coolant. Filled 3 gallons of water, but sooner later need to fill coolant again due to disappear. The car has been serviced by BMW fremont, CA on Nov 30, 2024 with 87751 odometer. At the time of engine break down, odometer is about ~91,500 miles. Less than 4,000 miles driving, engine oil is gone somewhere. Based on initial assessment by mechanic, it needs to replace the engine. The car will be towed on June 19, 25 to the shop to repair. Had to get engine serviced several times before I've received to recall letter. Paid out of pocket 4 times for the same issue.

I purchased the used BMW from a very reputable dealership may 2021. Last week, I was driving the car and all of the dashboard lights went on suddenly. The car began to buck and I pulled over immediately. I had the car towed to the local BMW dealership. The service department informed me, the serpentine belt broke, wrapped around the crankshaft, and grinded into pieces. The pieced of the belt were sucked into the engine and caused the engine to seize. When researching this problem, because I never heard of it before, it seems it is a fairly common problem with BMW’s. The BMW dealership wanted $14,000 to insert a new engine. There is no way I can afford that, and if it is a known problem, why wasn’t there a recall? I contacted BMW customer service and they said there was nothing they can do to help me. 2014 BMW 528i n20 engine failure at 70k miles. My wife was driving on a divided highway and had just tried to accelerate to change lanes. Without warning or any warning lights, the engine died and she was able to coast nearly off road. The car was locked into park and would not restart. This could have resulted in a serious accident as she was just off I-40 in raleigh in very heavy traffic. Vehicle was towed to a BMW dealer where it was diagnosed as an internal engine failure and engine needed to be replaced. The car was previously serviced approximately 1600 miles prior. Upon searching, this is a known problem with numerous sudden failures. BMW settled a class action but our BMW isn't covered. There are several years of this engine still in service and likely pose a significant risk to occupants and other cars.

While driving on highway at 65 mph the vehicle electrical system began to go haywire and the power steering and brakes both stopped functioning making it impossible to control vehicle. I was nearly struck by several vehicles because of the suddenness of the shutdown. I was able to subsequently stop vehicle in the left lane without incident.
