One problem related to clutch pedal/linkage has been reported for the 2003 BMW 530. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving on the freeway the clutch stopped responding, the tachometer soared and the clutch burned, the car was pulled to the side of the road and the clutch continued to smolder. It appears like it engaged and would not disengage.
