One problem related to manifold/header/muffler/tail pipe has been reported for the 2003 BMW 530. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
At temperatures below freezing fuel injectors leak fuel from where the plastic electrical plug and the metal injector body meet. This causes fuel to sit on the intake manifold. A build up of fuel vapor in the engine compartment. And fuel vapors to enter the driver cabin.
