Air Bag Light On problems of the 2007 BMW 530

Five problems related to air bag light on have been reported for the 2007 BMW 530. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 07/08/2018

The passenger seat occupancy mat sensor has failed and it has triggered the seat belt and airbag light sensor for my BMW. BMW says it is not under recall, but they have recalled the 2006 BMW e60 (mine is a 2007) for the same problem.

2 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2016

The airbag light and the seatbelt light came on, this is a safety issue so I don't know if the car of that year had a recall or not . . It was city street.

3 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2013

The contact owns a 2007 BMW 530i. The contact stated that the front passenger side air bag light had illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the front passenger seat occupant detection mat was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA campaign number 13v564000 (air bags). The contact stated that the vehicle experienced the same defect listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 53,000.

4 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2012

The contact owns a 2007 BMW 530i. The contact stated that the air bag and passenger side seat belt sensor indicators illuminated. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 13v564000 (air bags) and took the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer stated that although the contact experienced the failure listed in the recall, he would have to pay to have the vehicle diagnosed and repaired because the manufacturer had not issued a second recall notice. The contact notified the manufacturer on several occasions, but had not yet received a second notice. The failure mileage was 60,000.

5 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2011

The contact owns a 2007 BMW 530xi. The contact stated that the air bag light was illuminated upon starting the vehicle. The failure recurred on an intermittent basis. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. An authorized dealer was notified and the contact was informed that a seat pad would most likely need to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 85,000.
