1 Body problem of the 2017 BMW 530

Failure Date: 02/21/2025

This is the second time I’ve had overheating issues, and it now seems more severe. I’ve noticed both coolant and oil leaking, and the car is unsafe to drive. Also fault codes related to emission. Here are the symptoms I’m experiencing: •smoking: the car I started smoking, likely from oil or coolant leaking onto hot engine parts. Caused me to pull over at midnight on side of highway and get towed •coolant and oil mixing: I’ve observed signs of contamination, which may indicate a gasket failure or internal leak. •safety concerns: due to the risk of overheating or fire, I am not driving the vehicle. •the engine could overheat, leading to catastrophic damage. •leaked oil on hot parts could increase the risk of fire. •the compromised lubrication can cause engine seizure. I suspect the issue may be related to plastic components, as I’ve read they can become brittle over time and lead to leaks also, the these Bmws involves the water pump's electrical pump connector allowing water to drip from the positive crankcase ventilation system through the seal, potentially causing a short circuit.

13 Body problem of the 2005 BMW 530

Failure Date: 12/01/2012

I was driving about 35 miles an hour on a bumpy road(north rt 18, NJ), then suddenly a front passenger door popped open during driving. When I mean by popped open, it goes from door fully closed & locked to partially open, as if the door wasn't completely shut. When it happened, the "door open" signal came up immediately and the interior lights came up. I told a local BMW dealership, was told the door actuator is bad, and I should pay for the cost of $500. 00, which seemed unfair when it looks like a system malfunction. I had not had a problem until now.

15 Body problem of the 2007 BMW 530

Failure Date: 06/23/2012

While driving at highway speeds, dashboard lit up and warned that complete electrical failure was imminent. Then vehicle lost all power. Had to attempt emergency exit of the highway without any power assist of brakes or steering. The diagnosis was that rainwater failed to drain thru the sunroof drain and was routed into the trunk of the car where thousands of dollars of electronic vehicle control modules were mounted on the floor under the spare tire! this is an engineering failure that was well known to the manufacturer at the time of the incident. Manufacturer has refused to address any fault on their part. Newer Bmws now have a yellow decal in the trunk warning that no liquids are to be carried in the trunk despite the fact that the trunk even includes a rack designed for transport of groceries!! this is a serious safety hazard for all cars designed in this fashion. .

16 Body problem of the 2007 BMW 530

Failure Date: 02/01/2010

2007 BMW 530xi, has water leaking onto rear floor from roof drain behind sunroof. This roof drain requires the sunroof to be removed, headliner to be taken down and rubber pipes to be changed in order to ensure proper drainage. This is obviously a design flaw and is something that BMW should be covering the repair fees for instead of charging $700 to fix. The water in the car damages the electronics under the passenger seat which causes safety issues with the airbags etc. BMW is stating that this is a maintenance issue which seems strange as I have never had to pay $700 to fix a roof drain on any other vehicle I have ever owned in the past.
