Wheel problem #2

Tire pressure monitor warned that my left rear tire was low. Next day same thing. I went to have tire patched was told that the wheel had a crack in it. That was the cause for slow leak.

Wheel problem #3

BMW has a known issue with my make and model with the steering knuckle (swivel bearing) and wheel bearings making contact. This has happened now to both my driver and passenger side and it is very scary. Once they make contact, they stay in contact until fixed by the dealer. It significantly affects the ability to handle the vehicle and makes the car shutter, affects the ability to accelerate and brake, and affects overall driving in general. They say it is not a safety issue, but it feels anything but safe when you do not feel in control of your vehicle. All you can hear while driving is the metal-on-metal contact of the two bearings. I paid BMW $800 to fix my passenger side and now I will have to pay that again to fix the drivers side. This shouldn't be my responsibility to pay for my safety in this car. I don't have $800 to fix this, but if I don't I feel like I will get seriously injured and something will break on my car. There is no way you can keep driving the car like this and it not "affect the integrity of the vehicle" as BMW says.

Wheel problem #4

Tl the contact owns a 2011 BMW 535i. The contact stated that several wheels fractured prematurely. The contact stated that the failure was experienced on numerous occasions. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to circle BMW located at (500 state route 36, eatontown, NJ, 07724, (732)-440-1200 to be inspected due to an abnormal sound under the hood. The contact was informed that the driver's side front wheel and the driver's side and passenger's side rear wheels were bent. The wheels were not repaired nor replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 133,500.

Wheel problem #5

The tire tread separated completely from the inner sidewalls. There was no indication or warning of any issues, low pressure, no control panel warning, pulling etc. I was entering the highway, accelerated normally, the car driving normal. Then suddenly, I heard a loud pulsating vibration sound as if the tire was blown out. I pulled over to find that the tread had separated completely all the way around the inner part of the tire!!!.

Wheel problem #6

The oem wheel, 71414, is prone to cracking and breaking. I have repaired and replaced more than 4 wheels on this vehicle since it was purchased along with tires.

Wheel problem #7

Rubber separating and sidewall bubbles at 15k -30k miles. Vehicle is adult driven on paved roads.

Wheel problem #8

Tl-the contact owns a 2014 BMW. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the side walls of the tires ruptured causing numerous flats. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 16,200. Ad.

Wheel problem #9

5/20/14 i84- tire blow out with goodyear run flats 245/40/r19 98v on interstate after pothole. 10/28 i95 2 tires blow out. . . Towed 40 miles to dealer and replaced with 2 new tires. Mileage 26,000 10/28 dealer. . . Two other tires have bubbles in sidewall and need to be replaced, one of which was installed in may. BMW service's only interest is selling new tires. BMW contacted at corporate relations after 2nd incident on 10/29/14 and as of today 11/10/14 no solution. Vehicle is currently unsafe to drive on interstates. Goodyear inspected current tires with bubbles and could find no damage or cause for sidewall bubbles.

Wheel problem #10

Warning on dash board telling flat tire. No sign of any rupture or nail but end up replacing it. A similar incident on August, sept and now in oct. I strongly believe those re defective tires. Replaced four tires in less than a year with replacement cost of $2000 plus. BMW refrain to help and so is good year the manufacturer. Tires burst even you pass a rough bump. In over 30 years of driving never had an incident like this. So afraid to drive this car.

Wheel problem #11

While driving my 2011 BMW 535i on the interstate, on a construction zone, at 11:00 pm, I hit a pot hole with my front driver side tire. Almost immediately noticed front end vibration. Pulled over, did not notice damage to the wheel/ tire and continued driving until arrived at home without tire pressure monitoring activation. Upon inspection of the front driver side tire, noticed an approximatelly a 3 inch long "bubble" on the side wall of the tire. Following Monday, brought the car to the good year shop for inspection after opening up a case via the 800 number with goodyear. Upon inspection by the goodyear mechanic, there was a large 3-4 inch tear in the inside layer of the sidewall. Unable to determine how many layers involved. Most likely that the outside layer not involved because tire maintened pressure at all times. Based on a web search, it appears that there have been multiple failures of the sidewall of these tires. Tire involved, goodyear eagle ls2 rof, dot ne66 jp1r 2011. When are you going to investigate the issue?.

Wheel problem #12

I leased a 2012 nbmw 535i from paul miller BMW of wayne, NJ. Paul miller BMW is a certified and authorized BMW dealer in NJ, and handled all services for several repairs to my vehicle. I have had to replace 19 tires for flats and other issues in a little over 2 years since leasing my vehicle. This car obviously has a tight suspension with low profile (40) tires and this car is particular may be more defective than others. Since this car’s release and some prior years of the BMW 535i, I have seen several complaints online about the danger of driving this car as it feels like giant boulder falls onto the car when it hits even modest potholes or road imperfections. BMW as company should not market this car to any urban area customers, which I hope the ftc and other government agencies would please enforce before people get killed or seriously injured. I have tried several times to ask BMW corporation, financial services, and NJ paul miller BMW in wayne NJ to resolve this issue and they are unwilling to do so. Also BMW financial services breached warranty as they provided used tires during February 2014 even though I have a tire replacement contract that I paid them $1813 for. Paul miller BMW also tried to charge me for new tires because 3 of them needed to be replaced during one episode when I hit some highway bumps. They also suggested putting liquid nitrogen into the tires and billed me for this. The tires went flat immediately thereafter. This was yet another breach of contract as BMW's towing service did not pick me up multiple times when flats occurred. They also said the runflat tires can be driven at 50 mph or less for several miles and this did not work on multiple occasions as the tires shredded and I was stranded - one time of which was with a customer in the car!.

Wheel problem #13

The goodyear run flat tires on the vehicle continuously develop bubbles on the sidewall. I have had the tires replaced several times and BMW replaced because I had a tire/wheel package. Now that the tire/wheel package has expired I have been referred to goodyear regarding this matter. I do feel that this is a goodyear issue but also a BMW issue because they are installing a defected product on their vehicles. From my recent research I see there have been numerous complaints and the problem has yet to be rectified. These tires are unsafe and are a hazards. Will it take someone being killed before something is required of both BMW and goodyear to correct this problem at their expense and not the consumers????.

Wheel problem #14

6 tires in less than a 3 year period have failed. Some have bubbled. Two have gone flat. One failed on the highway at 65mph. This seems to be a particular problem with the goodyear runflat tires on the 19 inch rims on this vehicle. Small potholes are unavoidable on massachusetts roadways. Some of the incidents occured days after. Others were unassociated with such an incident. Both BMW and gooyear refuse to acknowledge the problem.
