Lose Power Steering problems of the 2002 BMW 540

Two problems related to lose power steering have been reported for the 2002 BMW 540. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Lose Power Steering problem

Failure Date: 04/23/2015

Power steering pump mounting brackets broke off ( on a power steering pump itself), car thus lost power steering, belt got off, in a turn it would have been a disaster , somehow I was able to steer it clear in a turn. I guess I was lucky.

2 Lose Power Steering problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2015

I was driving and my serpentine belt fell off. After inspection the bracket for my power steering pump broke and caused the belt to fall off. Lost power steering while driving.
