The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing the vacuum pump to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 10v446000 (service brakes, hydraulic) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
