Body Problems of BMW 740

The panoramic glass roof panel on this 2023 BMW 7 series (g70 chassis) has suffered a severe structural perimeter material failure. A flush hairline stress fracture spontaneously appeared along the outer edge completely underneath the rubber weather-stripping track with zero road or debris impacts. Because this panoramic roof cassette serves as a rigid, load-bearing component of the passenger cabin frame assembly, a structural edge failure introduces an imminent safety risk of a sudden cabin roof collapse or total glass failure while traveling at highway speeds. My independent collision facility, along with a secondary independent shop, physically evaluated the vehicle and verified that it is a clear structural tension fracture rather than an object strike. The manufacturer has refused a physical teardown inspection and is withholding their official written engineer files from us, leaving a severely compromised, hazardous structural safety defect unresolved under the factory warranty. Out of an abundance of caution regarding cabin safety, the vehicle was pulled from the dealer lot to execute an emergency comprehensive insurance glass replacement at our independent facility to permanently resolve the safety hazard.

Not really sure if this would be considered a safety complaint, but it could lead to problems if not corrected. The upper radiator shuttle will not function properly. This can cause restricted climate control in the vehicle interior, reduction of engine performance and possibly engine overheating. This appears to be a common problem with model years 2016+. I noticed this when I turned on the car and the check engine light came on. There is no visible damage to the shutter.
