Three problems related to body have been reported for the 2005 BMW 745. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Tl- the contact owns a 2005 BMW 745i. The contact stated that the door locks on all doors failed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and it was determined that the software needed to be updated. The contact found NHTSA recall campaign 12v504 (latches, locks and linkages), but the manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included and would not be repaired.
While driving my vehicle the driver door ejected open causing me to stop instantly to where the door needed to be held in order for me to make it to a safe destination so unreal I was scared to death it doesnt close at all in order to drive now.
Tl-the contact owns a 2005 BMW 745li. The contact stated that while driving at 10 mph and made a turn the front driver door opened. The instrument panel displayed that the doors were closed. The soft close automatic option failed and the contact had to slam the door in order to properly close the door. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic. The check engine light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop for emission inspection, who stated that the crank case ventilation valves had to be replaced. The repair was not made. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, there was a recall NHTSA campaign id number: 12v504000 (latches/locks/linkages:doors may not fully latch), however the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was 100,000. The current mileage was 120,000. Yn.
