Automatic Transmission Problems of BMW 745

2004 BMW 745i. Consumer states vehicle ran through the garage door the consumer stated the vehicle was sitting in the driveway running for about 10 minutes, when all of a sudden she heard a loud noise. The consumer discovered the vehicle went into reverse on its own and crashed into the garage. The vehicle was inspected, and no problems were found. The contact owns a 2002 BMW 745i. While having regular maintenance performed on vehicle, the mechanic advised that the transmission was leaking, stating that the oil pan and gasket would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who advised that the vehicle was not included in any recalls and provided no further assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. While parked, the vehicle will come out of p (park mode) and foll away unattended. The vehicle was put into park automatically by pushing the start/stop button, and after leaving the vehicle, it was seen rolling across the street as if it was in neutral hitting the curb across the street.

Transmission overheats and stalls. While coming to a stop, the car jerks before the stop feels like a someone ran into my bumper with there car. Transmission overheats per dash warning.

I just bought a 2003 BMW 745i with 63k on the dash. I have had this car for two months and the transmission is gone. I have just purchased a ew. But what can I do because this is not right and I bought it from a BMW dealer. They said the vehical was inspected a good to go. Bad business and this is a rip of for about 7k for a new transmission.

Transmission slams from second to first gear, feels like a bump from another car in the back. Transmission was replaced with issue still their dealership said cant find problem and nothing is wrong. Problem still happening factory warranty now unavailable.

My BMW 745i 2002 with "drive by wire" six gear automatic transmission developed a rough shift, "clunk" in the lower gear ranges. In the lower gears, the vehicle sometimes down shifts unexpectedly resulting in a sudden drop in speed. This could cause an accident if someone was following to close behind.

The vehicle jams into 1st gear when coming to a stop. Occurs just about every time the vehicle is stopped after high speeds. The vehicle's mechetronic module, transmission computer, was replaced at over 3,000 dollars.

Transmission slams hard when accelerating from first gear to second gear.

Transmission jerks and goes to neutral. Sometimes it goes into a failsafe mode and once the car is restarted returns to normal.

I am the first and only owner of a 2003 BMW 745i. At four hundred miles the transmission was replaced due problems shifting etc. At roughly 7500 miles the car while sitting at a stoplight launched itself into the rear end of a SUV causing vehicle damage to the front end of my car. My foot was firmly on the brake yet it still moved. Three weks ago while coasting down a steep freeway decline, the engine revved to 5000 rpm- my foot was not on the gas pedal and the transmission was in gear. BMW has had the car for thee weeks and can find no problems and wishes to return it to me. I have lost all confidence in the vehicle as it is a danger to me, my family and the public at large. I am not sure of the exact dates as I do not have my paper work with me, but can provide.

While vehicle was parked it slipped into neutral. This caused the vehicle to move and hit a wall. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

The consumer stated while traveling 10-15 mph the transmission indicator started flashing and the vehicle was unable to change gears.
