Seat Belt Problems of BMW 745

The car smokes from exhaust system when you pull off from red light, driveways, or whenever you excel in the car. I was told its a engine valve problem that BMW is aware of in the 7 series. This car cost to much for issues like you are a vapor from beyond when driving. Also why is it a problem with sensor on passenger side seat. I only carry a 10 lb. Purse the light stays on consist.

The seat belts in the car has not tightening tension. The red lights are on indicating that, fault in pass. - restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt-force limiter. Fasten and continue to wear belts.

I have read that there was a safety recall on some model of the BMW. And I would like to know why haven't the NHTSA haven't put out a bulletin on the BMW 745li about the seats blets and the airbags. When there are alot of complaints about this problem. I feel that we are driving a very unsafe car. Now on my vehicle the passenger seat belt will not retrack. And I am un able to carry anyone in the front seat. On the driver side I had that broblem to but the seat belt is able to fasten. This happen when I was driving.

The airbag and seatbelt tensioner was recalled for same manufacturer for cars from 2004 and up. The 2002 and 2003 model had the same issue but was not part of the recall. I was driving on the freeway and the light for the seatbelt tensioner and the passenger airbag came on. This is a serious safety concern since airbags may not deploy and the seat belt may not tighten in an event of an accident.

All of a sudden, I got into my 745i 2002,"fault in passenger restraint system affecting airbag belt tensioner or belt force limiter. Continue to wear safety belt despite fault. " this is an obvious defective materials from BMW manufacturing plant.

Following error when driving vehicle: "fault in pass-restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt-force limiter. Fasten and continue to wear seatbelts. Please contact the nearest BMW center" in the navigation system when starting the car. " 2003 BMW 745i. This model/year was not included in prior recall.

Started my 745i up for a quick trip to the store and received a restraint system failure light. After some research it seems that this has been a problem with the 7 series for some time and BMW has even issued a recall with a 10 year restriction. I cannot understand why my 2002 is not covered under this recall since BMW is aware that this has been a problem. Presently my car is unsafe to drive and the cost to repair by dealer is extremely high. BMW needs to own up to all models with this problem since this is a serious safety issue.

The warning light for the seat belt and airbag came on and the tension in the seat belt is non-existent.

The vehicle air bag system does not work due to a defective passenger seat occupancy sensor. It is a documented issue with BMW and they are denying coverage for my particular VIN.

On the dash board the loud warning light comes driver restraint system fault and passenger restaint system fault. I know that several 2002-2008 BMW 7-series got recalled regarding the same issue and manufacture offered 10 year warranty from in serive date regarding this issue. Mine is a 2004 745li and should be one of the recalled one. Called the manufacture and they sad the VIN number that my car has never have been recalled with this problem. The problem is on and I think the manufacture should take care of it. Is a shame to spend so much money for this vehicles and they can't offer a safe drive. Thanks.

The contact owns a 2003 BMW 745li. The contact stated that the air bag indicator light illuminated. In addition, the seat belts failed simultaneously. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection or repairs. The vehicle also could not be shifted from park. The contact had to leave the vehicle engaged in neutral in order to remove the key from the ignition and apply the emergency brake. The failure and the current mileage was 171,000.

The contact owns a 2003 BMW 745li. The contact stated that the seat belt was stuck in the latch. The contact stated that the driver and passenger side air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the air bag sensor was defective. The vehicle was only repaired for the seat belt problem. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000 and the current mileage was 200,060.

Passenger safety systems fault / air bag / seat belt tensioner warning light has activated on my car. 2004 onwards models were recalled for this same issue. Can you please advise why all affected cars are not covered as this is clearly a model / year wide safety fault with the sensor mat or belt tensioner systems. BMW are taking no responsibility and put the problem of recalls onto NHTSA. Please help as I do not want to transport my family in an unsafe vehicle and cannot afford the $1800 repair while certain owners are having this taken care of by BMW under the recall.

A full warning message appearing in the idrive was fault in pass. -restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt-force limiter. Fasten and continue to wear belts. Please contact the nearest BMW center. Now the seat belt /air bag fail light stays on and provide a warning upon start-up.

I started my car up at approx. 6 pm 5/22/2011 and a warning light on my dashboard indicating that my seat belt tensioner & passenger air bag is not working.
