1 Tire problem of the 2003 BMW 745

Failure Date: 12/22/2004

I lease a BMW 745li. The lease began may 15, 2003. Over the last few months three tires had to be replaced. The last two went flat as a result of driving at night over a low curb (a small island in the center of the road approximately 4 inches high) that had been installed since I last traveled that route. Both tires on the drivers side went flat. I had stopped for a traffic light behind two other cars and did not see the curb (I have pictures). Since I was accelerating from a stop the speed of the car was slow as the tires went over the curb. The tires could not be repaired and had to be replaced at a cost of over $800. Other cars went over the same curb with no consequences. I believe these tires are defective or are not appropriate for this car. The original tires were 245/50/r18 bridgestone turanza. I've reported this to BMW customer service in new jersey and they refused to accept any responsibility or compensate me for all or part of the cost.
