I just purchased a 2006 BMW 750i. Beautiful car. I saw that it had a recall. So I took it to the BMW dealership in charlotte nc northlake to get it checked out because I just bought the vehicle. I told them about the recall and they said they would check it. It's the year 2016 and they tell me that the recall was for 10 years and that they wouldnt repair the problem. My car is 10 years old and I dont understand why they wont repair it. And its a very serious problem for me and my family. The airbag is a very serious recall. Was just hoping that I could get some help with this issue. I dont feel as if I should have to pay for the repairs on such a serious defect. And it was a recall for a reason.

7 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2014

I started getting an error on my I-drive about a month ago stating that there was a problem with my air bag/restraint system and found the recall notice on the NHTSA website. I called my local dealer and made an appointment to get it repaired under warranty. I was told that BMW currently does not have a recall for this issue, and was forced to pay using my extended warranty. I ended up having to pay $260 out of pocket after deductible and extra charges because my extended warranty company did not want to pay the high hourly labor rate of the dealer. So I had to pay the difference. I told the dealer about the recall on the NHTSA site & they said that unless BMW has it in the system showing that it affects my specific vehicle, it is not valid. . .

Failure Date: 11/15/2013

Continuation of affected parts: latches/locks/linkages and parking brake, your site states recalls for 2006 BMW 750i, but BMW said there is no recalls for my VIN. I have been having multiple safety issues with this vehicle. I have been having problems with the latches/locks on all four doors, they repeatedly go lock and unlock. I was driving down the street with my 3 year old grandchild and his door came open. The car also accelerates and shuts down almost like is going to stop. Parking brake light will not go off and it makes a grinding noise.

14 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2013

Driving, with my wife as passenger,on 118 fwy, in simi valley California at approx. 11:30 pm on June 6 when air bags deployed without warning, and without collision or impact. Engine was disabled and I was miraculously able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road, despite lack of vision from airbag and from dust inside vehicle. No indication of any impact whatsoever. Vehicle was completely disabled and I was barely able to get vehicle out of traffic lane. Dashboard had two messages: 1. "engine malfunction" 2. "fault in passenger restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt force limiter" vehicle was towed to a local BMW vehicle on Monday , June 10, and I have been waiting to hear something/anything from BMW factory ever since. Clearly, this accident could very well have been a fatality had there been traffic on the freeway or had we not been extremely fortunate.

15 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 09/05/2012

On date in question my girlfriend sat down on the passenger seat and a red light appeared on my dash board. I took my veh to the dealer and was told it wasn't a warrantee issue and it would cost me approx $1500. 00 also I was told my airbags would not work. I decided not to fix the problem. Several months later I received a recall notice for this same issue. I immediately call the dealer and informed them that I received a recall for this issue and I was told that I have to wait for another letter. I'm concerned about my safety, why is it taking so long for this letter from BMW of north America.

The passenger airbag off warning lamp lights up with a passenger in the front seat. This has been occurring intermitently since I bought the new car. After learning there had been a recall for airbag failure, I asked the dealer to check into this problem. The dealer said there wasn't a recall for my car and we would have to pay to have it checked.
