The contact owns a 2006 BMW 750li. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph, she applied the brakes, but the brakes did not respond. The contact was able to stop the vehicle and had it towed to the dealer. The technician stated that the master cylinder, vacuum supply line, and brake booster would have to be replaced under the recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 10v446000 (service brakes, hydraulic:power assist:vacuum). The technician also stated that the vacuum pump would have to be replaced, but it was not covered under the recall. The contact stated that the recall indicated that the vacuum pump was the source of the failure and it should have been replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 119,000.
