In 2009, we bought this 2006 BMW 750li as pre-owned and certified warranty from BMW of tenafly, new jersey. We have registration address maintained in new jersey, and have not updated, even though we moved to chicago, illinois in summer of 2011. BMW issued 6 recalls for 7-series manufactured between 2005 and 2008. The recalls on manufacturer defects on electric and transmission in 2012 and 2013, and again in 2017. We missed all of the notices for these recalls. The vehicle was driven for less than 50,000 miles, from 2009 to 2019. The vehicle was inspected, and in good mechanical conditions, as well as body, since the vehicle has been garaged most of times. Since 2019, the vehicle has been in shops for repairs for electric and transmission and engine. It has been more than 3 years for our vehicle in the shops, and over $21,000 spent, there is no sign that the vehicle can be driven. Thus, we checked the online and found out the BMW recalls on this vehicle in 2012 and 2013. We called BMW customer relations & services, multiple times. BMW denied the recalls. We checked with the attorneys, including the ones who filed class action suits against BMW with billion dollars win for the customers on BMW defects. All said BMW shall honor their recalls. Further, the recalls will never be expired. Now BMW has declined taking calls, responding email, and recently shifting the failing repair to a BMW dealer. What shall we do? we have sent letter to their legal department. A shop who tried to repair over 2 years reported to us that this 2006 BMW 750li has a very bad reputation on electric and transmission. He said this is a common agreement among BMW dealers. Since BMW customer relations and services now shut us out, what department within BMW shall we go to. Shall we find an attorney for another class action suit, which occurred already?.

13 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/14/2014

I took my car to the BMW dealership in 2012 because I noticed oil in my garage. I was told there was no oil leak and nothing was wrong. I reported in 2013 that the 'add oil' indicator was coming on less than 2,000 miles after an oil change and was told there was nothing found that need servicing. In 2014 I took my car back because my oil indicator stated I needed to add oil and I was told I had an oil gasket issue that would cost $11,000 to correct. I took my car to the dealership 3 times while it was under warranty and was never told of any problem until after the warranty expired. The same is true with the transmission; I had my car serviced while under warranty but wasn't told of a transmission malfunction until the warranty was expired. I have to add oil every 3 to 4 weeks and my overdrive is not functional. Now I am experiencing a problem with the drivers door; it won't close at all but I was told that my car is not on the recall list for the door malfunction.

15 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/16/2014

I just closed the door and it would not latch! I have soft close doors and it would not work. It will not latch with the key and it won't work with the inside lock button? I had to tie the door shut to get home! I see that this is a recall for some vehicles but not mine? this is very unsafe and very frustrating! I see that there are many other models like mine having the same issue. This should be repaired by BMW across the board!.

16 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/02/2013

Brake peddle appear to resist depression, and braking becomes difficult or impossible. The resistance feels like a control system resisting, and preventing the peddle from being depressed. But it could possibly be a failure of power assist, but it feels like a hard, but slightly spongy resistance, like a hydraulic system closed a valve down stream of the brakes. The issue began abruptly 5 days ago, from no indication at all of an issue, to an abrupt issue in full effect. Now it is consistant, and very repeatable. When braking to a stop from over 20 mph, the brakes work normally down to ~10mph. Then between 10 and 7 mph, the brakes feel like they are pushing back, if not strongly resisting depression. Braking is difficult and dangerous. Take caution.

17 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2013

Continuation of affected parts: latches/locks/linkages and parking brake, your site states recalls for 2006 BMW 750i, but BMW said there is no recalls for my VIN. I have been having multiple safety issues with this vehicle. I have been having problems with the latches/locks on all four doors, they repeatedly go lock and unlock. I was driving down the street with my 3 year old grandchild and his door came open. The car also accelerates and shuts down almost like is going to stop. Parking brake light will not go off and it makes a grinding noise.

** VIN should have been included in NHTSA recall #12v504000. I have the exact model, year, options, and date of manufacture as the vins that were included. A mistake has been made. Nhtsa, please help!!*** *just like all vehicles included in NHTSA recall #12v504000, my 2006 BMW 750li is equipped with "comfort access" and "soft close automatic. " *just like the cars that led to NHTSA recall #12v504000, my (driver's) door appears to be closed. Then, unexpectedly, the door opens while the car is in movement! this is a serious safety issue. *I was denied the recall fix today at the dealer. *I called BMW customer care, and they told me that my VIN was not included in the recall batch. . . But -- the troubling part -- they could not explain why. *there is no reasonable explanation why my VIN was omitted from this recall. A mistake was made NHTSA recall #12v504000 that requires urgent attention and correction: some vins were omitted from the recall that should have been included. *NHTSA, I'm counting on you. Please help!.

22 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/06/2012

The right side passenger soft auto close latch is not working. The latch somehow tries to unlock when trying to soft close and door remains open. Door has to be manually hard closed due to this issue. This seems to be a widespread problem for a $100k car. No updates or reset option available on the internet.

23 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/17/2011

A major BMW safety concern. On a 2006 BMW 750 li, randomly, the driver's door will not latch. Nothing holds the door closed and at highway speeds the door swings open and has to be held close by the driver's hand. When the door won't latch the key fob and the interior electric lock buttons do not work. This is a major safety issue the factory ignores stating the car is out of warranty and any repair must be paid for by the owner. Electronic door latches must be designed to last the life of the car. Randomly the driver's door will not latch and repeatedly closing the door has no apparent effect. Leaving the car in a lot when the driver's door will not latch leaves the contents unsecured. Traveling at highway speeds and noticing the driver's door is not latched is very scary and I'm afraid in the event of an accident death could be a direct result.

24 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/30/2008

Over the last 4-5 years, have had multiple transmission related issues. There have been 6/7 transmission oil leaks that had to be fixed and refixed. 2 guibo joints have been replaced over this time. Over the last year and half, the transmission failure light has come on 30+ times when stopped on the road. Upon accelerating the car jerks into gear and moves forward. Twice over the last month, the car was stopped, engine running, and in park. The transmission changed from park to neutral by itself just about causing me to unknowingly roll into our homes fence.
