Table 1 shows two common structure related problems of the 2011 BMW 750.
| Problem Category | Number of Problems |
|---|---|
| Trunk Lid problems | |
| Body problems |
The 2011 BMW 7 series has a dangerous design flaw whereby the mechanical trunk closing motor does not reverse or stop if there is an obstruction, but rather it just crunches down, which broke my rear windshield and cost $2,700 to replace. Much cheaper cars like Toyota minivans, etc have a safety feature whereby the trunk closer reverses. Why does my $110,000 car not have this safety feature? why does BMW not want to admit this problem, or pay to replace my windshield? this is dangerous as a person's arm could get crushed as a result.
~tl the contact owns a 2011 BMW 750li. The contact stated that while approaching his vehicle he noticed melted tar coming from the driver's side rear door handle. The following day the windshield wipers engaged with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the vehicle should diagnosed at a BMW dealer. The vehicle was taken to wide world BMW (125 e route 59, spring valley, NY 10977) where it was diagnosed and determined that the door handle and harness cable needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
