1 Wheel problem of the 2020 BMW 750

Failure Date: 10/06/2025

On [xxx], while driving on a busy boulevard in wilmington, delaware, my 2020 BMW 750i suddenly lost all power (engine and electrical) without any warning. The vehicle completely shut down in traffic, creating an extremely dangerous situation. There were no warning lights or messages before the failure. I called BMW roadside assistance for help but was informed that because my warranty had just expired, they canceled the tow truck that was already en route and turned it away. This left me stranded in a live traffic lane until I could arrange my own tow service from geico. I called wilmington police for assistance and eventually had to run a couple of blocks to flag down a police vehicle that arrived and dropped several flares behind my vehicle. The vehicle was later inspected at union park BMW (wilmington, DE), where the technician stated that the failure was due to a defective cell in the main battery. This experience has made me very nervous to drive the car again, as a total loss of power without warning could lead to a collision or injury. I believe this represents a serious safety defect in the vehicle’s electrical or battery system and should be investigated. 2 Wheel problem of the 2017 BMW 750

Failure Date: 10/26/2023

The chasis function is limited on this vehicle due to failed right rear air suspension. Leaking right rear strut, and failed air compressor. Additionally, as a result my car needs an alignment. There was a service bulletin in regards to this exact issue in which BMW offered an extended warranty to repair vehicles free of charge up to 8 years/80,000 miles (mc-10215743-9999. Pdf) my vehicle is currently at 92,000 miles but within 8 years. I never received the notification. If I would have I could of had the vehicle inspected and fixed within the extended warranty time frame. I'm being told that BMW will not cover the cost because my vehicle is outside of the timeframe they agreed upon in the settlement. The cost is $ 8600. 00. This incident is the second issue I've faced. I purchased the vehicle certified from a BMW dealership. The initial problem I faced was with a failing braking system that was fixed through warranty after multiple trips to the dealership. I was at risk of the vehicle not stopping which could have resulted in a terrible accident. Now with this second issue I'm again at risk for my safety. BMW should be held accountable for producing vehicles with such safety concerns and at minimum be responsible for the cost to repair these issues.

3 Wheel problem of the 2016 BMW 750

Failure Date: 04/27/2021

I own this 2016 vehicle for 2. 5 year (2018 to 2021), I had to change wheels due to spontaneous cracks on the wheels due to normal driving conditions. Also wheel separate from tire, and sudden tire pressure loss happens even falling into small potholes. I already had to change 2 front wheels and 3 tires in two years and it happened again after falling into a small pot hole. This is very unsafe. 20" BMW rims wheels 648m g11 g12 750i g30 oem factory 7/5 series.

4 Wheel problem of the 2012 BMW 750

Failure Date: 11/25/2020

My pirelli run flat ties only lasted less than 8,000 miles. The front tires are bald! the rear tires have approximately 3,000 miles left. Unacceptable. This is not an issue with my car, but only with the tires. I could not find anywhere on this website to complain about the tires.

6 Wheel problem of the 2012 BMW 750

Failure Date: 01/04/2019

Purchased 2012 BMW 750li x drive in Sep 2016 not realizing or being informed that I was purchasing a race car. Shortly after the purchase, I notice some tire wear, roaring noise, and a rough ride on cold mornings with the run flat tires. I complained to the dealer and was told that the car is design to wear out a set of tires annually in order to get great performance. After 2 years of owning the car and driving about 20k miles, I just happen to look under the vehicle and notice the tire wear as I was about to take a trip. See photos attached. The wear is bad for the environment and the driver's wallet replacing tires annually. If this design was for race cars and high speeds, it should have stayed in germany since the speed limit in alabama is 70mph. The target data for the rear camber is -1. 52 degrees. A new set of michelin run flat installed is $1557. 45. Request BMW recall such cars and repair rear camber at or near 0. 00 degrees. Vehicle was stationary.

7 Wheel problem of the 2007 BMW 750

Failure Date: 03/11/2015

My name is jeremy taylor. I was turning off of frontage rd onto northside dr slowly and my left front tire fell right into a huge pothote which blew my tire completely out. This is my 3rd time having to get a brand new tire due to the streets of jackson,ms. The 1st two times I was upset but, as usual, did not be a baby about it but went on to get my car fixed on my own. This time, I am extremely upset, and am very tired of spending money on my car when the only damage comes from this city. Also, my car made a small squeaking noise afterwards and a seatbelt warning is on in my dashboard. Parts for my car are very expensive. The tire alone is enough. I was not speeding or driving wreckless and I cannot continue to pay for the damages caused from the streets. If someone could please contact me and talk to me, or if I could prrsonally talk to someone, I would glady appreciate it. Thank you.

9 Wheel problem of the 2006 BMW 750

Failure Date: 08/17/2012

Began getting low tire pressure warning. Removed tire to check for nail or puncture, noticed inside lip of rim has small crack. This same thing happened a little over a year ago with one of the rear rims that had 2 cracks at exact opposite sides of the rim. Based on internet postings, this is happening alot and of course BMW claims that they never hear of this!!.

10 Wheel problem of the 2012 BMW 750

Failure Date: 08/01/2012

I have had to replace the two front tires twice for bubbles. The bubbles occur when going over bumps in roadway not pot holes. I have no damage to front rims and my tire shop said that it is a defect in the tire. I also have had a problem with the rear rim cracking. This has occurred twice to the same rim with no damage to the tire. This is a big safety issue and BMW will not acknowledge it as a defect.

11 Wheel problem of the 2010 BMW 750

Failure Date: 02/22/2012

I have a BMW, 7 series 2010 with oem run flat tires. During the first year of the lease two of the run flat's developed bubbles and gave out and needed to be replaced. I was told that these were simply due to the conditions in manhattan that this happened. Now I notice another clear bubble forming on the side of the third tire and my total mileage so far is below 11,000. This situation is echoed by 100's of BMW customers online and nothing is being done about it. BMW does not want you to change to non-run flat tires, citing that this would be against the lease terms and yet continues to charge $600 for ever tire that needs to be replaced which is now just a little more than frequent. I feel that BMW is doing this knowingly and this is a big scam. Overall, despite their safety I feel that these tires are defective and are well known to be judging by 100's of customer complaints online but BMW chooses to remain quiet about it. I would greatly appreciate if your department was to take note of this issue. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

13 Wheel problem of the 2010 BMW 750

Failure Date: 01/01/1901

2010 BMW model 750 IL. Consumer states vehicle has a shimmy the consumer stated after purchasing the vehicle a few months ago, he had the wheels chrome plated. As the vehicle was driven, a shimmy in the front end became evident. BMW claimed the chroming process caused the problem and the four wheels were bent. The consumer stated there was nothing in the chroming process that would affect the metallurgical integrity of the wheels, and it was the consumers feeling that in the heat treating process at BMW the process was defective. BMW claimed that out of the 100,000 wheels they have sold there had been no reports of soft wheels, but the suppler of the chrome wheels said that was not true and they had problems with 750 models before.
