Drivers side front door failed to close or latch. The door had to be 'zip tied' to rear driver side door to get the vehicle home. I took the vehicle into the dealership for diagnosis and was told that the issue was due to a faulty door lock actuator for my vehicle which has comfort access and soft close doors. I find this to be a serious safety issue if the actuator fails that the door cannot be closed at all.

Drivers side front airbag seat mat sensor. Fault for driver side seat mat sensor. The passenger side seat mat sensor has been replaced under recall for the vehicle. However, the drivers side still has the error and I would like to know why the driver side seat mat sensor is not also covered under the recall for the passenger side seat mat sensor.
Windows, door locks, stopped working . Passenger door will not open.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 BMW 7 Series. The contact stated that the rear driver's side door would open independently. The door would open while the vehicle was in motion or while sitting idle. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number:12v504000(latches/locks/linkages:doors:latch) and contacted the manufacturer, but was advised that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was unknown, but the current mileage was 73,600. Kmj.

Oct 19th 2012, 2006 BMW 750li. (automatic park feature causes vehicle to almost run over my daughter on its own) I stopped the car on my driveway and opened the driver door while at the same time pushed the p park button on the shifter (opening door while car is stopped causes this model to automatically shift to "p" park) I proceeded to exit car to key in my garage code on the keypad mounted by the door about 8 feet away. This is my first car with automatic park feature so just in case I always manually push the "p" park button as a redundant habit. I think it's important to note that I physically saw the transmission shift from d drive to p park and light up before exiting the vehicle. The car was still running and in park!, when out of the corner of my eye, before the garage door could open I noticed the car following me. It moved about 8 feet and barely missed my 4 year old that was on her bicycle about 5 feet away. It slammed into my garage door at around 2-5mph before coming to a stop on its own before I could do anything about it. When I got back in the car, there was little gear light on the dash and a transmission failure code" appeared and it had shifted to n neutral on its own. Now when I attempt to put in d drive it automatically goes into neutral after a few seconds. Apparently, it went into neutral all by itself and inertially plowed into the door. It didn't make sense to me how it went from park to neutral until I read your article regarding an ongoing investigation. I further found through the BMW forums that this is an issue affecting many cars in this year and model range. I even noticed that your administration has investigated this issue in the past.
The contact owns a 2004 BMW 745i. The contact stated that the engine would overheat and the vehicle would shut down and lose power. The safety mechanism in the vehicle would shut down if it sensed a failure with the vehicle. The failure occurred a total of three times while driving 40 mph. On one occasion, she was able to drive to the dealer around the corner and the other two times, she had to have the vehicle towed to the dealer. The dealer could not diagnose the cause of the failure because the code was lost. The contact showed the mechanic pictures of the message on the instrument panel that read, "do not drive, engine overheating, turn engine off". The contact was informed that a new battery was needed and she would have to pay $600. She did not believe that the issue centered around the battery. The manufacturer stated that because no code displayed, they could not assist. The current mileage was approximately 70,000 and failure mileage was approximately 44,827. Updated 09/17/08. BMW 750 li 2006. I am the fist owner of this car. Sicne I got this car it has given me much problem. I have owed this car for a year, and have taken it to the dealer many times. The problems were not solved. While driving the car jerked, and air conditioning ( a/c )smelled. The light always went on. There were so many problems.
