2018 M3 gas tank has cracked on the top and gas slushes around and leaks out. I filled up my tank and gas started leaking from the bottom. 2015-2016 BMW covers it but mine is made in 2017 has the same issue but no recall. This is very dangerous because it’s gas related.

Parked on a slight hill, shifted out of drive and applied the ebrake by pulling up firmly. Unbucked my seat belt, opened the door, and got out of the vehicle. Left the door open to go in my house, grab my wallet, and come back. The car stayed in neutral instead of shifting into park which should have happened but multiple components of the car failed to detect me exiting (door latch sendor, software, seat sensor, seat belt sensor). Leaving the car in neutral meant the parking brake was all that was available to hold the car. As it turns out, the electronic brake was not strong enough to do so, and the car rolled down the hill hitting another car, pushing that car into a structure and causing my car to be totaled. This never happened before but due to car not shifting into park with exiting, the vehicle became a rolling hazard putting all people and property around it at risk. I did not hear or see any warning messages as I had exited the car as I had always done previously. I should not have to turn off the car (press power on/off) to engage park or there should be a "park" button like most cars. Given there is no labeled park, the system gives you no indication of what steps you have to take if autopark doesn't engage. My car has been totaled and released to copart. It may be available for inspection from them.

Evaporator core design flaw is conducive to mold and mildew buildup. Overtime, the bacteria can build up to the point where it will release into the ventilation system upon use causing unsafe health environments for both drivers and passengers. Standard cleaning procedures provided by BMW are not sufficient to prevent future occurrence.

Rear subframe structural damage per class action lawsuit bacca v. BMW of north America, llc, case no. 2:06 cv 06-06753 ddp ajw(c. D. Cal. ). I brought my vehicle for maintenace repairs and inspection at a private repair shop and notified me that there is evidence of rear subframe damage during their inspection. BMW did not notify me of this very typical issue of their BMW 3 series models 1999-2006. This is not a typical issue in automotive manufacturing and should be continued to be address by BMW north America due to the compromise of safety to the owners and the public of these vehicles. I have attached a pdf of the class action lawsuit letter regarding the structural issues of the automobile. This obviously was not addressed by BMW properly and should be continued to be addressed as the issues are still relevant up to now. This still raises a safety issue since these models are still being sold today. I've also attached a current photo of my vehicle that shows the evidence of structural damage under the rear subframe of the vehicle. I would greatly appreciate you help in getting this issue resolved with BMW of north America as so prevent further damage and prevent any major accident from happening. Thank you! clarence trinidad.

Passenger door would not open from inside or outside the car. Car was parked, door would not unlock after pushing remote or console button or when pulling door handle inside which normally unlocks it. This could be a death trap in case of fire! I hear there are known issues with the gm5 module.

I've taken my vehicle in to the service dealer multiple times since I've purchased the car back in Nov. 2016. I noticed a clunking and jolting sensation from my rear axle which I knew was not normal. The dealer after diagnosing the issue told me it is normal and there isn't an issue at all. Upon further research online and personal frustration knowing I'm paying for a new car which doesn't feel new at all, I found the attached recall notice. My car has a production date of may 20, 2016 which falls in between the timeline mentioned in the attached recall memo which will require a replacement of the rear differential. Also, searching online on the BMW M3 forums, many other owners of this similar vehicle have such an issue and I am worried this might also pose a safety threat to me. For these reasons, I am submitting this form here.

While trying to exit my e92 2009 M3 from inside the vehicle by double pulling the handle it would not unlock the car. The locking bolt sticks up partially when you pull the handle but doesn't unlock. I had to hit the lock button from the dashboard to unlock the car. This is a safety concern if you are panicked and can't get out of the vehicle under heavy stress.

Faulty smg pump possibly caused by a culmination of other failing parts in smg system. Car is rendered inoperable in potentially hazardous driving situations that would otherwise be circumvented by a system more capable of warning the owner of an impending failure. The remedy the majority of dealerships are using are replacement of the entire smg system, which costs up to $7,000. 00. As hidious as this sounds, there more than likely is a very small factor or part that is causing the entire system to fail. BMW needs to address this immediately.

The rear mirror in my vehicle is a self-dimming one. While parked in the garage overnight, I came out to a significant discoloration in the glass, almost like there was water inside of the mirror. I figured it would need replacement, but did not think it would deteriorate so fast. The next evening, I parked in the garage again. I came out the next morning and the discoloration had worsened. I noticed splatter all over the area underneath the mirror. It appears the fluid had leaked out and dripped all over my shifter, trim, window buttons, and cupholders. Any part that was plastic had burn marks from the splatter of the corrosive liquid. I was very uneasy cleaning up the remaining liquid as it is obviously very corrosive. I spoke with Bmwna and they instructed me since the car is out of warranty, there was nothing they could do. This issue is beyond a damaged part; it is a safety and health hazard.
