Equipment Problems of BMW M5

The vehicles system saw a phantom pedestrian on the road and performed emergency braking. I double checked surroundings and there were no human present anywhere arround.

The front windshield cracked in the middle from the top without any impact. It made a butterfly shaped crack going both sides symmetrically from the middle. I took it to BMW casey in newport news, virginia. They looked at it and agreed that there was no impact. They kept the car for 5 days and then reported that BMW north America is not aware of any defect and that they would not cover the replacement. However, this problem seems to exist in multiple BMW vehicles reading the online forum. This is a big safety issue since this problem could have happened while on a highway and impairing driving vision, and worse shattering of the glass.

BMW issued a stop sale on 2017-2023 BMW f90 M5 chassis regarding the expansion tank failure. All vehicles should be affected by the recall. My current vehicle is experiencing the issues stated on the recall notice. Expansion tank is failing and causing coolant to seep into engine bay.

Coolant bottles on all f90 BMW M5's have a faulty coolant bottle that BMW refuses to acknowledge. The coolant bottle cracks no matter how many times it's replaced and it leaks coolant down into the injectors causing injector and engine failure.

I was pulling out of my driveway when my car had a smell of burning oil so I stopped, as I stopped my car began smoking from the hood. I lost oil all down the street and my driveway, after,I stopped my car and pushed it into my garage and I saw were it was dripping from underneath the car so I took off the under panel and saw a hole in the pressure hose(vanos pressure hose assembly). There had been a recall when the car first came out on the lines but my car was a month out of the recall range. My car is an 06 with just at 40k miles. . . The car is used by the way.
