Side/window Air Bag problems of the 2004 BMW X3

Two problems related to side/window air bag have been reported for the 2004 BMW X3. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 09/03/2008

Tl- the contact owns a 2004 BMW X3. The contact stated that the vehicle was impacted and the rolled over several times but the driver side nor passenger side air bags deployed. The contact sustained injuries to the neck, head and upper back. The vehicle sustained major damage. The current and failure mileage is 68000. Jp updated 10/14/08. 2 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2005

2004 BMW 300 series. The consumer states the driver side air bags deployed spontaneously. She was driving 10-15 mph when this occurred. The consumer was not injured. The sensor strip beneath the driver's seat shows an area of impact. The vehicle has never been in an impact; the consumer has always had this vehicle. The vehicle stalled when the airbags deployed. This occurred on a flat residential road. She was at a stop sign and when she started to accelerate, the air bags deployed.
